Has anyone else gotten better at Guitar Hero 2 since playing Rock Band?

I thought I had peaked in GH2. For the longest time before GH3 and Rock Band came out, I would try and try to improve my scores but without success. Then, after playing RB for a month or so, I went back to GH2 and improved my score on virtually every song I played. GH3 is next (once I peak at GH2 again, that is).

Yes. I was stuck on Crazy on You by Heart on Expert forever.... after RB came out I tried it again and now I'm stuck on Free Bird. GRR!

Thanks for posting this. I just went and played II. I five starred every song on expert initially except the trooper! I just jumped on and nailed it!!! Thanks to you and RTTHs!!!:D

yes actually, I went back and did some GH2 a few nights back and even though I played the hell out of these songs a few months ago I was able to top all my old records.

I was stuck on Crazy on You and Freya, literally dozens of attempts months ago when I was playing GH2 regularly, just could not get past the intro in Crazy....or handle the rhythm of Freya, but a few weeks oh RB and I tried them again and passed.

In some ways RB is much easier than Guitar Hero 3, but for GH2 I think its about par.

Long story short, Guitar Hero won't ever be the same for me, unless an Aerosmith exclusive version comes out ;)

You can hammer on, just have to know when to.

When the notes are close enough you can.

i cant 5* the trooper either but everything else except hangar 18 i can
the cover for the trooper is embarassing....makes me glad that i only play the xbox version round my mates

eh not really, I mean I guess anyone gets better over time but I don't think RB had anything to do with it.

and I still go back and play gh2 reguarly. The songs are still the best set yet for one of these games. Until RB has a good majority of those songs I don't see myself not playing it from time to time. Especially for guitar battles, RB just can't touch it yet.

Of course! There are some great songs in all the various GH's and it's always fun going back. Some of us don't turn our backs on something as soon as something else comes along.

I played GH2 and GH3 a ton when they came out but I have only tried GH2 once since Rock Band came out and I did horribly. I definitly prefer the Strat now and I almost can't stand the Gibson. Plus GH3 is just a bit too hard for me (That Slayer song). I like to have fun, not get all serious and frustrated, which I did with GH3.

If Activision pulled their head out of their asses so I could use the Strat, I'd play GH2 and GH3 and possibly buy the DLC. I just think it's a much easier controller.

I haven't touched GH3 since RB just love the drums. If you do play GH3 for Xbox, then they are having a GH3 party this weekend on live with the developers and you can win stuff.

I didn't get better after RB, but I did after GH3. I could never 5 star Hangar 18, I was always short by about 10-15,000 points. I went back and I 5 starred it with a good 315,000 or so =] 5 star is 290,000.

There are no drums in GH2... so No, I haven't touched it at all ;)

yeah. i noticed as i played rock band, that i was getting better at plastic guitar. i played free bird on expert, which i have only done once before, and almost got five stars. i play better on RB though. GH3 might have helped to. BTW: FREE BIRD FOR ROCK BAND!!!!
