From Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/06/best-buy-offering-60-rock-band-pre-order-w-accessories/):
BestBuy.com has put up pre-order listings for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Rock Band. That doesn't sound like a big deal until you hear about the price each version is listed at: $59.99. That's a lot less than the $300 Gamestop estimate that was getting thrown around a while back.
We know what you're thinking: This deal is probably just for the game disc, without the special controllers needed to make it work. Au contraire -- the product features clearly state that "included drum, guitar and microphone peripherals enable players to perform music together." [emphasis added]. Even if Best Buy realizes their mistake and raises the price, their pre-order FAQ states "you will always receive the lower of the two prices."
We can't guarantee that Best Buy will actually honor this great deal when the game comes out in November, but it seems to us like they might have to. We recommend putting in the order now, printing out the applicable product features description and receipt, and arguing your case when it comes time for the in-store pick up.

Did you guys really think that would work? They would NOT have to honor that

I found a pre-order FAQ button, but I can't find the link that'll let me pre-order it. Even if I don't get the crazy discount, I was planning on pre-ordering it eventually, figure there might not be a better time to do so.

They've taken it down already.
There is just a "coming soon" button where it used to be.

That's because they won't let you yet.

First MGS4 on 360 and now this. All in a week. Retailers are getting sloppy.

No, it says right on there:
Included drum, guitar and microphone peripherals enable players to perform music together
Under product features. But, it's most likely just a glitch, they'll fix it soon enough

They say they will honor the lower price, yes. But do they say anything about honoring the exact details/contents of your order (i.e. all the listed peripherals)?
So yeah. They might honor the $60 price for your order. But they might not honor the listed items that are included.

I got mine in too. I fully expect it to not work, but I couldn't see the harm in giving it a try.

My sentiments exactly. I'm glad I had enough time to give it a shot. Now to wait for them to say, "Sorry, that was just for the game only."

There is no way they will honor a glitch or error on their site. They will however give you the game disc which is exactly what you pre-ordered.
Sorry to bum anyone out but an error is not honored, by anyone. It's a buisness not a lottery.

Exactly. I can't believe people are being so silly. That's the only reference to the peripherals. Nowhere else. Thinking you're going to whine and cry to get them to give you the bundle for the price of the game is ridiculous. Does anyone know what the sku of the product on the site is? People probably didn't even check to see what actual product this corresponded to.

I doubt they will honor this, I think I'm not even going to bother with this, I'm not that good at arguing with people anyways, I'll probably get charged full price for it in the end.
It's pretty funny they messed up like this though. And its gone now, too bad they figured it out pretty quick.

I hate to be pessimistic but that was probably a mistake. I think the drum set alone is supposed to be 80$ and the game 60$ not including the mic or guitar.
If it is true I will cry tears of joy.

Did anyone even stop to think that this was a set minimum for the pre order? Sometimes companies have a set amount that would need to be deposited. Most game stores require 5-10 bucks. With a game costing 200, it wouldn't surprise me.

It isn't. Their pre-order policy clearly states that it's the price of the product and that you'll get the lower of the two prices (pre-order vs. actual price).
Their error policy, on the other hand, clearly states that if an error was made, they won't necessarily honor it. Which I expect to be the case here.
Either way, I gave it a shot. Barely took any time, and I won't be out anything if it doesn't work... which is what I expect.
