I left in nov. 06, because I was getting sick of the influx of non-search using idiot newbs and spammers. Apparently a good time to get out, because from what I hear it just went downhill from there.

Being such a long time and harcore GH forum user, it pains me to say this, but yeah, its only a matter if time before Im done there. Too many metalheads and idiots that are so ignorant and misinformed about the Rock Band thing that it just ticks me off.

I just said there are too many metalheads on the GH forum. Theres a difference between a metal fan and a metalhead. For example a metal fan (like me, or even a hardcore one) would think it would be awesome to see some Black Sabbath, Pantera, Maiden or some Soudngarden stuff off Badmotorfinger (my personal favorite metal album), but would at least appreciate Reptillia or Tom Sawyer as a good song. However, metalheads like 90% of the idiots on teh GH forum think the game will be garbage if Slayer isnt in it and that Wont Get Fooled Again is "teh suX0rz, and wherez teh wicked screamin' aand Gitar soloz! Teh Who is crapsz, wherez teh Morbid Angel and DrAgunfurce!"

And penguin, you may consider yourself a metahead, but you can surely appreciate Wont get Fooled Again or even a song that isnt heavy metal? And even if you only liek metal, surely you can enjoy the majesty of Rock Band, which dosent have alot of metal at the moment...

And I never called metal fans idiots, I said that Im sick of people who consider anything that isnt metal garbage. Also, if you think I have little taste in music because my favorite band ever is Radiohead, I dont think you are on a prime position to say anything about me either.

I actually agree with your feelings on the GH forums... Too many "metalheads". All they want is metal. All they care about is crazy solos. Even when the band they want is put in the game, they ***** that it's not their favorite song. Drives me nuts! Hopefully this forum never comes to that.

(And yeah, Radiohead is way up there on the list of great bands - and cool to see Cinder here. Does that mean Rock Band is winning?)

No, I understand what sushi means. The people who think they should have all the music they want in the game and who complain when they don't get 100 percent of it are metalheads. Not to say that metalheads are the only people who complain but they make up a huge chunk of it, and the proof is in the new forums they've made to complain since being banned from the GH forums. Jakester, tman, almost all of them are simply metalheads.

Metalheads are not ALWAYS like that. But these ones are.

I'm a huge Metalhead... Well I'm a big metal fan, lovers da metal. But I too appreicate and love other kinds of rock. I wouldn't mind having some Trivium in Rock Band or Guitar Hero III, but I wouldn't mind having some Def Leppard or some Yes.

I'm the kinda metalhead that'll bang my head to some ripping tune, then tell you how much of a badass Clapton is on guitar.

The worst thing about the GH boards wasn't even the spammers, which happen on most every boards, it was the numerous amounts of people who were regulars who were just there to put other people down and make fun of everyone and try to push their opinions on everyone as fact.

I used to be a semi-regular at the old GH boards, but boy they lost a lot of their civility. Plus the board server seemed over-worked and unreliable. I got "service unavailable" errors for months and months.

I joined the official GH board not too long ago (and this one VERY recently), and yes, it sucks. Technically (remember my login id, already) and the quality of posts (Here is my unique reason why GH80s sucks, so I'll post a new thread about it).

I don't know yet if I'll end up getting RB, but there seems to be enough of an overlap between GH and RB fans that this is an interesting place to be regardless.

AND here in lies the main reason why the GH forum has gotten so bad. I joined a few months ago and found no real good debate. Debate is good, but do it will class. They don't there. Even though there has been some argument here, at least it's not "Because I said so and I'm don't care what you said". That comes from the top. At least there is a HUGE HMX influence here. You know if you ask a question, you have a great shot of getting an answer. Not "MORE INFO COMING IN A FEW MONTHS".
