2. Just in case there's any confusion, all instruments can do pro face-off. But only against each other, guitar vs guitar, drum vs drum etc.

Yes there will be pro-face off. Face-off's will only be between either two whole bands, or guitar vs. guitar, drums vs. drums, bass vs. bass, and mic vs. mic, so thats how you can do that. Nothing has been confirmed about the different face-offs yet, most likely there will be something like a pro-face off where you play through the whole song, and the other way might be switching off, similar to guitar hero in the past. I'm almost positive the only aspect of the game that bass cannot play is single player tour mode.

What i was asking in the third Q was
in Guitar hero you have faceoff and profaceoff
in face off, you alternate who plays, but each player can have different difficulties
in Pro face off, you play the whole song, but you have to play on the same difficulty as your opponent

It's been a while, but I thought in Pro Face-Off you can play on different difficulties while playing the whole song. I swear I've done this. People I play against unfortunately play on Medium, but I know for a fact I've played on Expert while the other person played on Medium, and it was the whole song.
EDIT: I just thought of it. It was GH1 that you had be on the same difficulty, in GH2 it can be different. For that reason, and the problem with the H/O's and P/O's is why I don't like GH1.

* Face-Off
This is the same multiplayer mode as featured in the original game, though in Guitar Hero II both players can individually select their level of difficulty. In this mode, players alternate between playing sections of each song. The scores are weighted so that a player who hits more notes on Easy difficulty may not necessarily win against an opponent on Expert difficulty who hits less notes.
* Pro Face-Off
Players play the full lead guitar track on the same difficulty. For the PlayStation 2 mode, this is available upon completion of any career level, while for the Xbox 360 version, the mode is unlocked after completing the career mode at Medium level or higher. The score system is identical as the song could be played alone, but songs cannot be failed in this mode.
