I was on Wikipedia's page (yeah, that makes this less credible already) on Rock Band (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_band_%28video_game%29) and under the basic stats portion of the page, below the picture of the logo, there was the boring stuff (publisher, distributer, designer, blah blah blah), but then release date. That, you can imagine, caught my eye:rolleyes:. It shows that November 6, 2007 is the North American release date for Rock Band.

I clicked the little source link next to it and I was shot to the bottom of the page and this information was supposedly confirmed in the September 2007 issue of GamePro. For those of you too lazy to click the link from above, here's a screenshot:

I know there definitely hasn't been an announcement (as far as I know), but we can always hope it's then, right?

Yeah, we already had a thread about the september Gamepro issue. So, yeah, if you can believe Gamepro, then it's probably true. Amazon says Nov.20 though.

My bad, I only joined a few days ago.

Amazon says Nov.20 though.
EB Games has Nov. 20 for everything except for PS3 peripherals, which are set for the first of November.

All the dates provided by EB are placeholders and best estimates for release dates, they don't actually have any more knowledge than we do when it comes to the release date, which has yet to be announced. The gamepro issue is promising, it also says Rock Band will have Nevermind as a DLC album. I hope Rock Band does end up coming out the 6th, or hopefully even earlier.

although you never know for sure, i'd say the gamepro info is legitimate. that info should have been embargoed till september, but since they publish the issue so early it leaked. just like how the ps3 and xbox360 price cuts leaked before they could be officially announced because they were printed in future retail advertisements.

i think the "official" announcement on the nevermind dlc and i suppose the earlier release date will be made when the magazine hits the stands (when would that be, mid/late august? september 1st?) because if it's announced too early the magazine looks like it's carrying old info.

in my opinion harmonix is doing a fantastic job marketing the game. they have everyone salivating for the release and any info on the content. there's no real reason to put out any info too early. it's only detrimental to them because the more song tracks they announce sooner, the more time guitar hero 3 can try to jam in before its release. they could wait till october to release all the news and overshadow the upcoming release of guitar hero. id love to know everything about the game now, but you gotta remember this is a business.

In the past month there really has been a ton of info as well as plenty of video to pore over. If we released info every day, even every week it would be a mess and everybody would be sick of us. We're excited to be able to talk about stuff as well.

^ that says it the best.
People need more patience. Just like when GHII and 80's came out, I purposely tried to avoid looking at and memorizing what songs are in the game. I wanted it to be more of a surprise!

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in, November 6th is probably the date Harmonix is aiming for (if Gamepro got the info from Harmonix for the Sept issue). But they can't really guarantee a date until they get the game closer to going gold (when it's ready to be mass produced and shipped). That's why games always have place holder dates as opposed to real release dates. The real dates are hardly ever announced until about 1 month or less from release. Exceptions are sports games (cause they're more like updates) and movie based games (cause they have more of a rushed development, since they almost MUST hit the correct release date -the week of the theatrical release - to bank on the movie's hype/marketing).

I'm sure they definitely want the game on store shelves before Thanksgiving/Black Friday, so I think it's safe to assume we'll be playing the game by at least November 21st - which is probably where Gamestop got their placeholder ship date of Nov. 20th. Of course, this second paragraph is just pure speculation.
