Who wants Journey in Rock Band?

I mean come on you can't have a band game without Don't Stop Believin' . I mean thats like the perfect song for it.

There is the music video. It has like three guitar solos, great drums, a memorable bass, and vocals that are stellar. This is just perfect. Sure it may not be hard rock or anything but it would still be great.It would also be great for party's and on-line.

Don't Stop Believin' would be lame since the entire first minute has only vocals and keyboard, no drums, bass or guitar. It's great for vocals, though, no argument there. And the instruments are pretty good once they start, but I'd rather just have it on the Escape album as DLC and have a more consistent song in the main game.

Stone in Love, for instance, would rock mightily, as would Separate Ways (Worlds Apart), Any Way You Want It, or Wheel in the Sky.

Judging by the statment made in the IGN, I would say they have a very good chance of being in think about it, the other bands have had licensing issues (Beatles, Zep), or just lack enough star power to sell a game (Monkees)

If I had to bet, I would take the safe bet of Radiohead and Journey being in the game out of that list of five, as much as I would love to have Zeppelin and The Beatles...

I'd definitely like to see Anyway You Want It or Wheel in the Sky in Rock Band.
Both are really awesome songs and I think they'd fit perfectly in the game.

In the name of all that is HOLY, may RockBand be released without Journey. Journey is terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE. I am sure lots of people like Journey, and so it should be released as DLC. It isn't that I don't want those who like them to be without, I just don't want to have play through any part of a Journey song to finish the game. They are unoriginal, glorified C*ck rock. I love lots of music that most people wouldn't, and so I don't want it in the main game.

Well, welcome to the world, Frankenlife. :p If I could have only escaped GHII without John the Fisherman, Tattooed Love Boys, Institutionalized, Laid to Rest, etc, etc. :mad: Any set list is going to be a compromise. Deal with it. Maybe you don't like Journey and that's all fine and good, but there is a lot of talent there, especially on vocals and lead guitar. The vocal aspect of this game alone is going to change the dynamic a ton. Songs that put a premium on vocal talent will be needed here, and that makes Journey a very viable candidate.

Personally, I just hope there aren't any "grunting" songs (Laid to Rest comes to mind) or "screaming" songs, unless it's Hunger Strike from Temple of the Dog. :D I'd pull off vocals so fast it would make your head spin, and I don't think I'd be able to keep a straight face when someone else tried it either. :eek:

Just out of curiosity, throw out some bands that "most people wouldn't love." I have a broad musical taste myself, and I'm curious as to who you like. I'm not looking to flame you. We just disagree on one band, no big deal.

I understand the need for comprimise. What I really liked about GH2 was the variety of rock in the game. But other bands can fill the c*ck rock slots. There are many of them. Just please not Journey.

I too have a broad musical taste. My music collection ranges from Frank Sinatra to Diecide. With plenty of off beat stuff in there. I love the song "Institutionalized", however the cover in GH2 was terrible. I love punk rock. Deep Down I never grew out of being a little punk trouble maker. There will always be a soft spot in my heart for blowing up port-a-potties with stolen dynamite. But that neither here nor there.

Some bands that I love that I know will never make it into RockBand....hmmm:

Super Joint Ritual

Most of the rock that I listen too that would have no chance is either some form of punk or metal. It's abrasive sound, offensive nature, and lack of popularity would surely kill them ass options. But Rock makes up about half of my music collection.


BTW: The singer for Journy doesn't have a bad voice, but his voice doesn't make up for the poor lyrics, and poor musicianship of the rest of the band.

I vote for "Seperate Ways" because its the only song of their's that I actually like. I've never been a fan of "Anyway You Want It" plus having it in those damn TV commercials doesn't really make it less annoying.

Your opinion sucks. There will be songs you don't like to play, deal with it like everyone else.

there is mine i changed the first two songs around. i just want to be able to play it because it is so epic and it reminds of the 2005 white sox world series win. i am a big sox fan, and a big journey fan. it was like the perfect combo!
