Here is a local Rock Band contest in Austin, TX that seems pretty cool. Thought I would share it with y'all and hope you do the same.
Who needs plain ol' Guitar Hero when you can be a ROCK BAND ROCK STAR!?
We are searching for a MAXIMUM of 20 teams to participate in Austin's most AWESOME contest of 2008: Pluckers/101X Rock Band Contest at Pluckers on Research
Registration deadline is Feb. 13th at NOON.
So you think you're a Rock Band rock star? PROVE IT!
HOLY CRAP, HOW DO I APPLY!?
Post a 3-7 minute video on YouTube of you and your posse (2-4 peeps, lead singer IS mandatory) playing your favorite Rock Band song (HARD or EXPERT). We will select only ONE TEAM for each song on the game so BE CREATIVE in your song selection.
Got costumes? WEAR THEM!
Have props? USE THEM!
Have a dance routine? DANCE IT!
After you have posted the video, send the link to kwollman@pluckers.net for us to review along with the following information:
1. Your name and your band mates' names
2. Your cell phone number and your band mates' cell phone numbers
3. Your emails and your band mates' emails
4. Your schpeal. Why, oh why should we allow you on our stage?!
Registration deadline is Feb. 13th BY NOON.
We will contact the winners that SAME DAY.
If chosen...
3 judges will grade you based on:
1. Your percentage of notes hit (40%)
2. Costumes (30%)
3. Band performance (30%)
When we say costumes, we mean COSTUMES. If you show up in civilian clothes, well, let's just say don't let the door hit you on the way out! We want to see your interpretation of the band you are choosing for your rock song.
Band performance has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the game score and ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING to do with your jumping scissor kicks, the teams' choreography, Gene Simmons tongue extensions, and 12 inch statues of Stonehenge!
Entourages are not part of the scoring system but clearly the more fans you have screaming for you, the more the judges will be impressed. TELL YOUR FRIENDS!
There are prizes. YES. PRIZES.
You would think the chance to rock it out Rock Band style in front of a giant crowd in an awesome wing bar would be enough but NO!
WHAT KINDS OF PRIZES?!
Well, for starters, HOW ABOUT A $250 PLUCKERS GIFT CARD WHOOOOOOOO!!!!
There will also be prizes from 101X and other vendors. We will update the prize information as it becomes available.
GET IT IN GEAR PEOPLE... LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!
