Advice on getting 2nd microphone...

I have decided to get myself a 2nd microphone in order to be able to do some local vocal face off with my girlfriend and my friends... At first I was thinking of simply getting the same mic that came with the bundle off eBay (360 version)... But then, I heard about the release of the new mic wich is supposed to be of better quality... Is it really worth it? I mean it's 50$+ tax while I can get the old one for about half that price... I would appreciate some feedback from people that tried it... thx

Wait, I've got a question for you...can you do vocal face-off on the same system with two mics?

I have 3 RB compatible microphones:

* The original microphone
* A plain jane Logitech ($29) microphone
* The "new" RB microphone ($50)

You cannot yet purchase the original RB microphone. I'm not sure when they're releasing it for separate purchase.

The plain jane Logitech is blah. The sound quality isn't nearly that of the RB mic.

The "new" RB microphone is a good microphone but compared side to side with the one that comes with the game it's better suited for the game. The "new" microphone feels more real and looks more real but it doesn't like cowbell nor tambourine. I don't feel there's any sound difference.

I just use my sister's HSM Sing It! microphone to do face offs...Try seeing if u can buy a cheap usb mic. Those are like 10$

Yes you can indeed do local vocal face off on same console, that's why I want a 2nd microphone... I tried it with the 360 headset mic but it does not work that great and you will always loose vs someone with the USB mic, so it's not a fair duel... I guess I should just get the same mic that came in bundle from ebay... There are plenty for sale there and it should not cost me more then 20-25$ with shipping cost...
