Okay I got rockband last month and love it. My guitar was broken out of box not turning on. I have been playing drums since I got it and have not had one problem with it.. I never played drums before so I suck even on medium. I was just worndering if I'm so crappy that I don't realize the drums don't work right, or did I luck out and get a complete working set with out fail?

Probably the former, but there's a few people that claim to have perfect drums, so it's possible.

If you have a QM you wouldn't notice it's failings playing on medium though unless you were hitting too hard.

That's worth mentioning, actually - this is of course where people come to complain/solicit help when they have problems, so it seems like there are a majority of people having problems... but it's not like the tech support board is going to be utilized by satisfied customers talking about how perfect everything is - although it's a near certainty that a significant number of drum sets from the millions of copies they've shipped/sold are just fine.

So I'll pipe in and mention that I have a QM set that I bought at launch, I've played many hours primarily on drums (and am a drummer), and haven't had a single problem (other than the vibration thing, fixed nicely by a piece of cloth and two rubber bands). My guitar seems fine too, although I've played it less.

Not being an apologist, just pointing out that not everyone is having trouble (other than the damn drum fill lag).

True Limesix6, though some people would view your QMs as broken. You just fixed the roll issue by adding the cloth dampers. I'm kinda in your camp, in that I see them as "fine", but that's just me (and you apparently).

My QM drums don't do long series of fast notes (LSoFN?) that well... or maybe I don't. My technique isn't that good yet. All in all I consider my set to be "the perfect one" since this blows away the first two drum sets I had.

What a QM drum set? My drums seem fine (on PS3). My friend who is a drummer has played them and said they work better then his guitar player who has an Xbox 360 version.

I got my Rockband game for the 360 for Christmas this year and have been absolutley loving it, but about a week ago I noticed my red drum not registering hits, and it has spiraled from there, now the yellow and green both are running at about a 60% hit rate, as I feel the drum heads I notice what appear to be cracks in the heads, but I have been very gentle with them. Is this covered by the warranty? Can I send them back and get a new set of heads?

Yes, you can send them back.

On topic: I had a launch set (EL) and didn't have a problem until my yellow and blue pads started rattling. They still seemed to work fine but I RMA'ed them anyway. I just got the new set (EL again) today, and they are quite different from my old set. The pads seem to be softer and quiter, but they still react the same as the old set.

BTW, I have played through easy and medium, but now I play on hard. My only problem is the kick. I am getting better but man it is hard to seperate my foot and my right hand on those hard runs with complicated kick combos.

This is crap! There is nothing on the packaging stating requirements other than a PS2! This is the only game I get disk errors on.

I don't think there are any perfect drum kits out there, I've had 2 different ones, neither is or was pefect. Latest set are EL's, they work but are not perfect, I have some dropped notes here and there...bass pedal wise I've made my own so it isn't a issue.

I've never experienced a problem with my drums...the ones that came in the original package. I had to replace my guitar a few times but my drums have always worked like they should...they don't miss a beat unless I do, even on expert.

Got my set at Christmas and haven't noticed any problems with mine either.
I've spent 10x the amount of time playing guitar tho and it wasn't until last Sunday night that my strum bar broke (down strum).

I'll check what model I have when I get back home.
