a question that may have already been answered, but is it possible to grab a mic stand, and to play guitar and sing while online? many bands have their front man singing and playing guitar at the same time so just wonder if its possible here. if so, you can bet i will be singing and rocking out :)

Yes, though it will be difficult

If nothing else, obviously you can select that there's 2 players at your home, and the "2" of you join an online game. The "2" of you would choose to play guitar and singer. Obviously you'd pretty much have to memorize 1 of the 2 parts, I would assume singing.
Just hope your online partners don't snag singer, or you'll be playing 2 guitars, or guitar and drums. Hah.

yea, well i play guitar and sing in a real band so hopefully it wont be that difficult to do. and it seems that singers are scarce. ive actaully memorized a lot of thr RB songs to be honest...

If you can do it for real, then you're good.
Theres a good amount of people who have expressed interest in singing and playing guitar at the same time for the game, but they're mainly people who have never played real guitar, nor have played guitar and sung at the same time in real life at all.
It takes very good coordination to do so.
I just hope you're aren't making it up. I've never heard of "guitaring" before :p

Unfortunately I can't do it in real life. When I'm playing guitar, if i even open my mouth to start singing, my brain just shuts down and my strumming just goes nutty. If i want to sing and play at the same time i have to sit and really memorize the strumming pattern before i can start singing.

i agree playing real guitar and singing isnt easy at all. and neither is drumming, which is why i want to develop better coordination on the drums with the game.
ive found that it is a little easier with visual cues. i guess the brain processes things differently when you see the notes on screen, and so i have an easier time spitting out words. im hoping seeing the drum patterns on screen will help me out the same way.

Just me but I do both and have zero problems. But again that's me.
Well here's to hoping Harmonix wises up and puts a mic stand with the game!

The IGN interview from August 3rd says that they will not have a mic stand in the initial release, but hope to have one later on.

I know but that just seems really...small. Like is it even worth it?

Not really worth it, they should have it from day one, or probably not at all, I hope a normal mic stand will fit the mic, and I'll just buy one of those.
On a side not: Why did you change your picture next to your name back?

My only concern with the singing / guitaring or singing / drumming is whether you can pair them up so that the game knows that one person is doing both, rather than have the game think that it's two seperate people.

Yes, singing and playing real guitar is quite difficult.
Of course, its possible. All you need to do is go online as the singer and guitar player, as if you were two people. Thats if you can go online with two people, and I think you can.

More points:D
I doubt it.
I hope so, though. Seems like a possibility for RBII.

It looks big enough, but not too big. I think a real mic stand is possible, but it might interfere with the buttons. That could be our only problem.

ive seen so much videos and read so many articles that i dont know where i saw it, but the developers clearly stated that singing and playing would have to be done as two separate players. there is no single player mode with singing + an instrument.
oh and i dont think not including a mic stand is that big of a deal. they're pretty universal, and cheap at music stores.

Not that I will be able to do it. Well I've never tried anyway.
I remember reading in an Interview that you can use your XBOX 360 Mic. I can't imagine the quality being very good as that Mic doesn't pick up very good and it's not loud enough.
Anyway there's also the fact that if you try to play online with 2 players on Xbox Live you will need 2 seperate accounts. Each paid for.
Offline should work. But who knows. Personally I think guitar will be enough because it's not like the guitar is just rhythm in these games. It's like a mix of rhythm and solos. I think it would be tough.
