Ok, I finally worked up the courage to post a set list...
This is a pretty exhaustive list of everything I'd like to play in RB - with a strong bias for the singing portion.
Elvis Presley - The Promised Land
Jimi Hendrix - Foxy Lady
Cream - White Room
Steppenwolf - Born to Be Wild
Queen - Princes of the Universe
Led Zeppelin - The Immigrant Song
Ted Nugent - Great White Buffalo
AC/DC - Thunderstruck
Boston - Longtime
Black Crows - Hard to Handle
Cinderella - Hot and Bothered
Iron Maiden-Aces High
Aerosmith - Shut Up and Dance
Foreigner - Juke Box Hero
Scorpions - Rock You Like a Hurricane
Van Halen - Hot For Teacher
Faith No More - The Cowboy Song
Guns N' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
Pearl Jam - Evenflow
Collective Soul - Heavy
Soundgarden - Spoonman
Third Eye Blind - Narcolepsy
Rage Against the Machine - Guerilla Radio
Spacehog - I Want to Live
The Cult - Firewoman
System Of A Down - Chop Suey
Velvet Revolver - Fall to Peices
Rob Zombie - Meet the Creeper
The Darkness - I Beleive in a Thing Called Love
The Raconteurs - Steady as She Goes
The Killers - All These Things That I've Done
Franz Ferdinand - The Fallen
Muse - Hysteria
And this is my attempt at a list for female vocals (and yes I'd sing any of these too...)
Janis Joplin - Down on Me
Pretenders - Back on the Chain Gang
Stevie Nicks - Edge Of Seventeen
Lita Ford - Kiss Me Deadly
Joan Jett - Bad Reputation
Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy
Pat Benetar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Blondie - Maria
Melissa Etheridge - I'm the Only One
Hole - Celebrity Skin
KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See
Love it? Hate it? Feel the need to school me on metal? Let me know.
On a side note about vocals and solos. Coming to this site after playing the Guitar Geroes, obviously I love a good guitar solo, but what about drums/vocals? I've seen a lot of complaints about songs with 30 or so seconds of just singing, but none about a lack of singing...
I plan on singing just as much as I play guitar (will definitely attempt both at once) and I don't have any problems with one part or another having a break for a few seconds...
I guess I don't get how the drummer or guitarist not playing for a little is any more godawful boring than when the vocalist doesn't have anything to do. Can someone explain the difference?

I think the difference is most people here don't really care all that much about the vox. :p Oh, and you get to tap the mic like a tambourine along to the rythm of the song. :D

That makes me feel lonely. I'm looking forward to RB over GHIII largely due to the vocals. Karaoke games have way too many pop songs I don't much care for. (ex. SingStar Rocks! - Fresh Prince, Joss Stone... these are rock?!?!)

I'd sing anything I'd memorized, particularly Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine, The Cure, Weezer, and Bad Religion.

Don't hate on The Cure. But otherwise, that games soundtrack is kinda pitiful. XD

There's plenty of songs in the game that I like (heck, I own it) - but the title implies rock music, and having old rap and new pop was just disappointing considering how many great rock songs there are for singing.

I must compliment you on your list. You, for the most part, steered clear of the greatest hits mentality and chose songs that would be fun to play for RB.
Incidently, for The Pretenders I would choose "Precious" off of "Pretenders" rather than "Back On The Chain Gang" off of "Learning To Crawl". Take a listen to "Precious" (especially an early live version if you can find one!)

I could only find few short clips of the song, but I see what you mean. I'm not too farmiliar with The Pretenders, the only other song I could think of was Brass in Pocket...

If I could sing any Vocal-centered song. I've got 2 choices
November Rain - Guns N Roses
It's the end of the world as we know it - REM (I know the lyrics! They dont make much sense...)
