I was just kinda puttin it out there, but why not have a headset mic with the rockband package so a single gamer can mic it up while playin the guitar? Sounds like another possible mini game but It would make the gamer feel more like a true Kurt Cobain if you could rattle off some lyrics while jammin out on the guitar; also the guy doin the vocals wouldn't feel like such a pantiwaste if he was contributing to the band!

I'm pretty sure any USB mic will work, so you could get your own headset...
If I had a headset I'd be worried about getting really into a song and yanking my console off the TV with a swift burst of head-banging action.

I've seen so many falling consoles in my lifetime, that the vivid image of that happening just straight up made me laugh. Thank you for the small chuckle I had there.

You'll look stupid hitting yourself in the head during the tambourine parts. ;)

I read on IGN that you can use your xbox360 mic with the game.

So if your Xbox headset would work, where does it plug in to the guitar or the drums? I think I would feel like a gome holding the xbox controller while belting out Enter Sandman.

QFT, thats what it says, so you could use the headset, which I guess would solve the singing and playing problem. Although personally I want a mic stand and the microphone.

Yea I'm definitely using my real mic stand even if I'm just singing. But that is a good point, how can you do the tambourine parts if you're using a headset?
But also, to answer your question FingerFloater, the Xbox headset plugs into the Xbox controller, and that's also how the Rock Band mic will plug in as well. The cord is long enough, so you don't have to worry about holding the controller. It just sits on the floor. Or can put it in your pocket if your pocket is large enough.
But when using USB mics, you have to make sure to have your normal controller on (if wireless) or plugged in too, but that's the only way to navigate through the game.

Is your headset cord that long to set the controller on the floor? Mine isn't.
what is this talk about a Tambourine. I thought the drums the guitar and mic were the only instruments?

Good point, no, the headset cord isn't long enough.
Though Rock Band will support it, I think they're trying to get people not to use it. They'd much rather the people use the Rock Band mic.
And the Rock Band mic can be used as a Tambourine, and Cowbell. There will be certain notes to hit, mainly during solos, to keep the singer from being bored.

You use the mic to play tambourine/cowbell (I think?) on songs where singing isn't used, so I've read.

Forget just having the headset mic. Maybe we need the headset mic along side a headset harmonica together with a cordless guitar to complete one man band!:D
