I'm doing drum score duel and find a player. I pick random song and its "Learn To Fly". I pick medium since i dont know if the other person is good or not. I'm beating him and half way through the song he quits. I search for another player and get the same guy. This time he is leader and he picks "Say It Ain't So" and picks expert. I don't do expert. I do medium and some hard. Once again I'm beating him and he quits again. He then picks "I Think I'm Paranoid" and picks expert and this time I am murdering him. I've never done this song on expert and i have 100,000+ points and he quits again. I need to vent

Ugh, that DOES suck. I played tug-of-war and score dual for the first time today, and had great experiences every time.

Are you on the 360? If so, you can give the player negative feedback, which will also make you less likely to have to play with them in the future. I would assume the PS3 has a similar structure, though as I don't have the system, I can't say for sure.

I am kind of confused by this post. No one gets to pick any songs, they are all randomly selected. Plus, you have to pick a difficulty before picking a song and before the matchmaking begins, so i am confused on that point you made there as well. And you should have just given the player a bad rep and made him an avoided player. Problem solved because you wont get matched up with them ever again.

Heh the one and only time I ever did a Score and Tug battle. The guy I did it with, I knew the song on Expert but not well and he picked Medium... Of course they beat me, then I decided "Fine, if you dont pick hard or expert Ill pick Medium with you too" we both play medium for 5 more battles... of course... I beat him 4 and he beat me once...

But yeah he sounds like a sore loser and show off.

That's only if your in a ranked match. If you are in player match the host picks the song and level.

it's ps3 and there is no ranked play option. I also can't leave negative feedback

I haven't been able to report quitters, because they don't show up in my recent players list. I tried writing down the name of everyone i played, but that's not easy, and cost me the start of "Won't get Fooled again".

Some people are just jackasses. I've only played Duel against a friend of mine that I know, other than that with other people I don't know I find it much more fun to play in band mode. This way everyone can pick the level they're comfortable with and you're working together so it makes people not want to quit because you're all trying to 'win' together.

This is the only reason if I play Score Duel that it's a Gamebattle. I have yet to have a player quit on me even if I'm about to win 2-0 or 3-0. I guess that's the closest you can get to ranked play in PS3.

i have a long laundry list of names of people who have quit on me. i was thinkin about making a thread of it where we can all post the names and the stories behind it. cause im all about street justice.

thats right. "bigheadsol111" im comin for ya!!!! the only quitter i had that was proud to be a quitter...also we also had some heated email debate over the subject....apparently its ok when someone is beating you, or if you dont like the song, its ok to quit??? no dice sucka. finish what you started.

just hang in there knick9mm, there are so many other great people out there who share our passions of rocking out in a friendly competitive fashion, i wouldnt let one dude ruin the experience for you.

I found out today that people do not like to lose. I played tug of war ranked match 8 times in the last 2 days and had 3 losses, 3 people quit and 2 wins. Highly annoying!!

Yes unfortunately the fact that there is no punishment for quitting doesn't discourage them. :(

theres a forum I visit that does this for buying/selling things to each other. Good deal names are put on the good to go list while the people who have bad service/communication/scams are put on a blacklist. The same could be done for this game in this forum or even on scorehero, too. Its a good idea to start publicizing peoples names that quit. It encourages people to not become a part of that list.

There should not even be an option to quit once the ToW/SD start.

On the PS3 tug of war tonight (drums), I had this experience:

1) against player X, i pick random song (ballroom blitz), i'm on expert, X on hard. i'm winning handily when X quits 80% through the song

2) against X again (by chance), X as leader, X picks Mississippi Queen. I'm on expert, X drops to medium. X wins with 99% to my 97% or so.

3) still with X, X picks blitzkrieg bop, X stays on medium, i'm on expert, X wins narrowly 99% to 99%.

4) X picks flirtin' with disaster, stays on medium, i stay on expert. i'm winning handily 30% of the way in when X quits.

5) player Y, i pick random song, it picks Pleasure(Pleasure), I'm on expert, Y on easy. I'm ahead by a bit when Y quits about 60% in.

6) player Z, i pick random song, it picks WGFA. I'm on hard (can't do it on expert yet :( ), Z picks medium. Z quits 30% in in a close game.

arrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

ETA: this was on drums

OK, like everyone else, I've dealt with the guy that is losing and leaves early, or they don't like the song and quit as it starts.

Well, I am 30 years old, work full time and my wife would kill me if I play too much, so I only play on average 3-4 songs every other night. I am a real guitarist, and have vocal training, but my real fun is on the drums as I have the least experience. I've managed to get it so that I can get 95% or better on any song at Medium level, a pretty good feat if I do say so myself considering the time I've put in (or lack thereof).

Anyway, my story: I am the leader of a score dual on the drums. I just played this guy and narrowly lost (by 76 points to be exact) on Coheed & Cambria: Welcome Home, medium level. My wife is watching me and cheering me on, so I decide to play one of her favorites, Flyleaf: I'm So Sick. Since I know the song well, I choose Hard level. We start playing the song and at first, we are both perfect and at the same point level. He decides to go into Overdrive with 50% of his meter full, while I decide to wait until 75%, so he takes the lead. After I kick in Overdrive, I managed to string it into a huge Overdrive period and I am winning by a few thousand (and still PERFECT).

We get to the ending part, if we were in practice mode I know it would have been in the last practice section of the song. I am still PERFECT on my drum set, much to my amazement. (I've never finished any song on any difficulty perfectly and there was no way I was messing up the last few bars.) All of the sudden, the guy realizing he is getting spanked leaves and I get a "LOADING" screen... I nearly threw my $&#@$ing sticks through my TV screen. I never have, and probably never will throw a perfect score on the drums, I always mis-hit at least one kick or pad... I am so distraught right now, you have no idea.

I was playing Score Duel, and I killed this guy by like 80,000 points, and I didn't get any skill points. Why is that??

Non quitter here ... I think I've quit out only a handful of times out of well over 100+ ranked guitar matches. It's a game, for fun. I'm no expert by any means, so I just play on medium for guitar practice (I'm normally on bass, at hard) and finish the songs to help me brush up.

That said, I try not to let the quitting players get to me. Sometimes I just laugh out loud because when they quit on you when you're spanking them, it's actually a compliment. Try to think of it that way.

To the guy that said if you avoid someone you won't ever get matched with him again......You are mistaken.

I have avoided lots of people and keep right on playing them. The game says you are less likely to play them. Not that you won't ever play them again.

Yeah I love the quitters who maybe you played one round with them before and they beat you then the second song you are kicking their ass and they drop. I didn't quit when you were winning, the least you can do is not do it when I am.
