Well, didn't find any thread about THE best rock band in history imo, so I thought I'd post one myself.

Even though some of the songs would be very hard for vocals, anyone agree that they should be in RB?

no Down in a Hole? that video's great...the band hangin' on a run down reservation...fits the mood of the song perfectly.....i think that would be a great download song (or album-dirt) for RB by the way

Oh, totally forgot Down In A Hole... Yeah, that'd be awesome too.
My favorite though would be having Would? in the game, and then have the whole Dirt-album as DLC, or having We Die Young in the game and Facelift-album as DLC.

Dirt may be a bit, how do you say, heroin-centric for mass appeal; still may fav of theirs though.....sunshine would be a trip

Alice in Chains should definately be in Rock Band in some capacity. Rooster and Nutshell are my favorite songs but I agree that Would? is the best fit for Rock Band's main game. Regarding albums, Dirt would be a nice dowload as would Jar of Flies.

I made an AIC thread a while back foo.... and hell yeah they best be in RB...
I'd love Would?, Man In The Box, Put You Down, Lying Season....
They should just put the entire Facelift or Dirt album as DLC

No matter how he died, this "*****" had one of the best voices in rock history and deserves respect.

I'm guessing your referring to Dimebag Darrell, yeah he's a legend and a hero, still no need for your comment, what kind of Jerk are you hmmmm, doesn't matter if this guy died of an overdose, alot of the greatest rock stars have died from suicide or drugs. Have respect when you speak about the dead you ****ing jackass :D

Also, even though it's a great loss of your favorite guitarist, and whoever you're talking about surely was really talanted, how does that have anything to do with how good Alice In Chains are/where?

Suicide is the weaklings way out. How many people who had their lives robbed from them would give for another few fleeting moments of the precious gift of life. No way, no respect, no praise, nothing. The lead singer from Nirvana, and whoever else. Put down the drugs, sharpen your mind and get ****ing real. Life is worth living.

Who committed suicide? You think he didn't try and quit? Like he wanted to sit in his room and slowly rott.... Heroin is a killer man and Layne found out the hard way... It is his fault he ever started mixing himself with that crap but he didn't deserve to go out like that... he tried to quit but it was too late and it's not like all these guys are clean either do you honestly think Dimebag was clean? Or half of these rock stars?

You're not making any sense here, Layne Staley didn't commit suicide, he died from a drug overdose.
And would you mind answering my question, what the murder of Dimebag has to do with the talents of Alice In Chains?
I also took the time to check out what bands you listen to, and I found The Doors among others. Now what makes it okay for Jim Morrison to die from a drug overdose, when it's not okay for Layne Staley?

Overdose = Suicide
Don't do drugs.
KillerIsMe
08-10-2007, 10:54 AM
Overdose is not the same as suicide.
If commit suicide you do that because you want to die.
If you suffer an overdose it's because you're trapped in drug abuse, and it becomes too much for the body to take.
In other words, very few people that dies from overdoses really wants to die.
And no, I don't do drugs. In fact, I don't even smoke or drink.

stay clean bro its the way to go.
so would it be safe to say that in your logic jimi hendrix was just some ****** ***** who killed himself??
newwaytodie
08-10-2007, 11:04 AM
Right because drug addiction, just like any addiction is a DISEASE right? That's why alcoholism, obesity, and loads of other "diseases" are so prevalent, because "it's not my fault... it's a disease!!!"
Wrong... don't believe what they tell you... Drug Abuse and the resulting addiction/death is a decision.
I think it's awesome that you don't do drugs... I'm not trying to attack you and I know you're probably upset because I didn't "respect" that dude. But how can I when there were so many good people that have died involuntarily, who would have loved to keep on living.
Our society has to start getting it... Addiction isn't a disease, it's all mental. Mind over matter. Perseverance... Strong Willed people with solid values need to stand up to these false ideals.

It's safe to say that the consequences of drug use in that era were relatively unknown. Hell, tobacco companies were telling us that smoking was normal back then.
KillerIsMe
08-10-2007, 11:09 AM
No, I'm not upset, everyone has the right of an opinion.
Though, I think you're wrong about the whole suicide/overdose thing. I mean, even if you have a choice, I don't think anyone starts taking drugs thinking "Cool, I'll start doing this sh*t so that I can die in a couple of years".
To me suicide is killing yourself intentionally because you want to die, and that is not the case with Layne's death. I'm sure that if he had a choice, he would have kept living.
newwaytodie
08-10-2007, 11:13 AM
Well, if I was his friend and he was shooting up. I would have slapped the living f*ck out of him and told him to stop because it was really selfish.
But then that probably wouldn't work... Judge me if you want but the only people I have seen get clean are people who end up following Christ.
KillerIsMe
08-10-2007, 11:18 AM
Yeah, of course if you knew him you would try to get him to stop, I think everyone would do that.
But now this thread has turned into an offtopic debate... Could we atleast try not to argue and keep to the topic from now on?

well anywho idk i listened to their acoustic album a long time ago didn't dig it as much as dirt. but my tastes have changed since then. but anything from dirt would be cool in rockband

Well anything by them would be fun playing on basicly all instruments, so the choice would be hard I think.

'Got Me Wrong' but the acoustic version. I'm not sure for the guitar parts but the vocals would be killer. How about an added challenge and have to vocal tracks. Harmony is key. If not that then 'Would?'!!!

Got me wrong would be awesome, though I don't think acoustic songs would fit in RB, atleast not as Main-setlist, maybe DLC.
