View Full Version : Freezing making me look like a quitter

I just started trying out Score Duel the past couple of days, on drums and vox. Fun stuff, and I haven't experienced people quitting out as I have seen so many complaints about. However, twice now my Xbox has frozen up at the very end of a song, and of course both times I happened to be losing, making me look like a quitter. I haven't seen the game do this before, but it just totally froze and I had to restart my 360. Anyway, I sent messages to the people I was playing against both times apologizing and explaining that the game froze, and I think they understand but really how would they know I wasn't lying?
Anyone else had this happen? (Xbox 360). It seems like a strange coincidence that it happened both times at the end of the song when I was losing. I just have to wonder if this isn't the source of at least some of the 'quitters' we have heard about. Anyway, if this is a bug in the Score Duel mode of the game hopefully it gets patched soon, and I guess don't be so quick to judge someone as a 'quitter'.

Could maybe be from overplaying (Just guessing).
My 360 used to freeze on me alot when I played Dead Rising for hours on end.

I've never really had it freeze before, even in summer and its definitely not warm in here now or on longer than usual so I dunno.

Your connection COULD maybe be a factor... did the freezing happen on separate days or on the same day?

Both times were tonight. And I do think someone was uploading something which tends to bog down the connection. But I didn't get disconnected, my screen literally froze and all I could do was press the power button on front of the Xbox.

It couldve lagged you to the point of freezing/dcing though.
See if it happens later tonight or tomorrow.

Sadly it has nothing to do with the game but with your xbox. Hopefully its a not a huge issue. Mine freezes up sometimes, but its not frequent enough to bother me.
As for the quitting part, yes it doesn make you look like a quitter, specially if it was near the end of the song and you were losing. If it was a ranked match I would have send you negative feedback. That is from my point of view of course. Lets hope that the two people were more understanding.
Also I dont think your two disconnects are part of the source of the "quitters." That is much bigger issue and two games doesnt make a big difference. Trust me, when you get higher up in the ranks and you get 15/20 games on you quit, you will see what we mean!

Yeah they were ranked matches. I sent messages apologizing/explaining. I'm not doubting that there are quitters out there, but I know that I will now think twice before assuming I know for a fact that someone quit a game intentionally. Just think if I had been playing the same person both times, there would be no way they would have believed it wasn't intentional. Hell I wouldn't have believed it either.

You are right about that. I usually let it go if its the first time. However if it happens more than once then I have to assume its intentional.
Also your situation its different, you sent them a message. I however, have never recieved a message apologizing so I can assume that it was intentional or they dont really care about their rep.
In any case it was only two times so I dont really see any harm done.

There is a small amount of harm done because I am paranoid now about it happening again LOL.

maybe they did get the win because i have noticed sometime when people quit at the last minute on me it still processes as a victory at the end for me and i can see their rank and mine with the percentage and everything
