Okay, so I was wondering earlier how you would differentiate from player names offline to band names online.

Say, I want to name my custom character Andy (definitely not my name or anything;)) and then I want my band name to be Gabo, can I do that without having to make both the same name?
//Is your player name your band name as well?

Another question:
Are you band members set forever with certain character names/certain custom characters?

Sorry if these are a lot of n00bish questions.
Any help is very much appreciated, thanks!

Band and player names are seperate. No worries man. Don't be so paranoid.

That is some deep stuff :p
I personally don't know the answers, and i don't think it's been released yet.Actually that's some really detailed stuff that we wouldn't find out until release.

Anyways educated guesses:

- Pretty sure you name your character, and then name your band something differently in "Band World Tour". I don't think this will be like GH, where your profile name was your band name.

-In all the previews we've seen with HMX playing, I believe they have "scrolled" to the character they wished to use, that they had previously created. The customization of your character is essentially purely asthetic, so i think you'll be able to switch/customize your character any time you want online or off for any band.

I wouldn't exactly call these "Noobish" questions, as I have never seen them asked before and good questions they are

I think you'll have a lot more freedom with RB than you do with GH
especially with custom characters and the likes

When your band is introduced, do they show your character name or your Gamertag?

Online or offline? I assume offline you can name it whatever you want, but online it might be restricted to your Gamertag, not sure though...

Who plays offline? When you turn on your console (360 at least) you automatically sign in. Besides, with achievements and leaderboards, you obviously want to be signed in anyway.

Regardless, I think it goes like this:

1. You have your Gamertag
2. You have your Character name
3. You join or create a band

The only time you'll be referred to by your Gamertag is probably in some sort of lobby when you're looking for people to play with online.

After that, you're called by your character name. As shown in videos, before the song starts they show "Player 1 on guitar, Player 2 Drums" etc. Instead of Player # it would be your character name.

There will probably be different leaderboards for different game modes.

I.E. Leaderboards for World Band Tour will say the band name, and possibly show both character names and Gamertags to show who's in those bands.

And for Single Player Career Scores, it will show Character name and Gamertag as well. Maybe just Gamertag.

This is just what I think, but it all makes sense to me.

You kids and yer cable internets. Back in my day (present day), we had to use a satellite to get our internets, and we had to share the satellite! We only get about 480 for download speed, and about 98 for upload speed. Xbox live online play is out of the question, so my character name is going to be Scrodem (or any other degrading name).
