I was extremely excited to hear that The Allman Brothers Band had made it to Guitar Hero II, they are afterall one of my all-time favorite bands. But after hearing the song choice, the excitement turned to disappointment. Jessica? I know it was one of their few hits, but damn, couldn't they have picked a better song? The song did their name no justice. It is afterall from the post-Duane years. (Anyone who doesn't know who I'm referring to, look him up ;D).
Anyways, I think any of their early material would be perfect for this game. I would love to see anything from their Fillmore East (http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=1055452&BAB=E) album, one of the best albums of all time, in my opinion. It's a very fun album, and I think these games need much more of that, fun. That's what will keep people coming back for more. I tired quickly of GHI and II not long after their release. I hope this game will offer a lot more in the fun department (by the sounds of it I won't be disappointed, hopefully).

I'd never heard of the Allman Brothers until GHII but i really liked Jessica, i thought it was a pretty fun song to play. If it gets better than Jessica then damn, i hope that makes Rock Band (or to a lesser extent GHIII which i may or may not buy)

I'd love for the Allman Bros. to be in this game.
It's more of my type of music.
Stop laughing at me!

No need for laughing man, I think they'd be a perfect choice for this game! Great, great, great music involving great bits for every instrument involved in the game. Everything stands out in their music.

I wasn't laughing. I was telling the others to stop laughing at me. :D
I love their music. Each instrument involved comes out so clean and it's refreshing to hear them every once in a while though I'd prefer to hear them more often.
The radio stations in the NY area don't play them often enough for me.

personally, i think the fact that they featured them at all is good justice. wether its a good Allman Brothers song or not i think is kinda irrelevant, its a great song overall.

I hadn't heard of them either until GII. But Jessica was a fun song :). Might have to look them up if that song didnt do them justice ;)

I only knew them for Duane Allman. I wouldn't mind some Southern Rock in this game. Skynyrd as well.

Please, no. Nothing by Dickey Betts. We've gotta have some Duane! Anything with some great vocals. Greg's soulful voice can put most anyone to shame. I only wish I could sing that well. Anything like..: Blue Sky, Statesboro Blues, One Way Out, Stormy Monday. Any of those would make me cream my pants.

I think they should put Blue Sky in. One of the greatest guitar parts of all time I think, but it also has nice vocals and drums. It's one of those songs where you feel good when you play it.

I would love to see "Ramblin' Man" on there, though I don't know if that was "post-Duane".
