Just had a thought about a potential different way of delivering content for Rock Band. Picture this: You're not sure if you want to buy a song or not, so you rent it for 24 hours for say 1/3 of the price. Within the 24 hour period, you can pay the remaining 2/3 and have the song permanently.

Also, imagine a situation where someone is having a Rock Band party, but doesn't own much DLC. What if they could "rent" the full selection for 24 hours for $15-$20, then receive a temporary discount on songs they buy within the next 24 hours?

I'm just toying with ideas here, but I'm curious if anyone could see value in this or maybe a similar system that would work better. What do you think?

That doesnt sound too bad.
I usually just look for the song on You Tube... take my Controller or drums or whatever... and play along with the video to see if I like it or not (Of course I look for 100% to hear the song with no missed notes to see if I like the song).

I think id would be a good idea but it may be too hard to establish with how the PSn and XBL Marketplace works, aswell as how DLC is added to games in the 1st place

They already have a DRM system in place for movies on Xbox Live so after a week (I think, not too sure on the time frame) the movie gets deleted from your HDD. That would be easy to do with Rock Band content as well. As far as paying 1/3 of the price to rent it then the rest later if you want to buy it I don't think anything like this would happen.

Sounds like a good idea but would suck for me b/c I already bought all of them. I like about 80% of the songs from the DLC list.
