PS2 Microphone Help?

When I connect the Microphone to the USB Hub or even directly in to the USB Port on the PS2, it still says "connect controller" in the spot for the microphone when selecting what instruments will play in the band. I don't think it's the microphone itself, because I have a microphone from another game and it doesn't recognize that one either. So am I doing something wrong? Or how do you play with the microphone? :|

I had the same problem. It is a very easy fix. Plug in your ps2 controller. You need it to navigate through the game........
