OK, guys, it ain't much, but it's all we've got to go on in the two weeks heading down the stretch to PAX.

In Dan's latest blog (http://www.rockband.com/index.php?do=/public/blog/view/id_403/), he says that Setlists and Fans will be part of the game.

What do you think? Let's get on this!

My guess is you have x number of fans in each town, and the more fans you have the more money you get from shows and more songs you can play. I guess you'll gain fans by playing well, and lose them by playing badly. SO, in theory, you could advance pretty quickly if you 100% every show around the country.

Setlists might mean that we get to pick which songs we use to advance, or even have your band not play songs you don't like in World Tour mode.

Just a few more weeks...

That reminds me... in the Karaoke Revolution games, the crowd would grow larger or smaller dynamically as you performed better or worse in the game. That always amused me, especially since I would usually end up with four stragglers booing me off the stage.

So, we may get some sort of realtime graphical measure of our fanbase.

I'd say those are some fairly educated guesses Bakkster.

That happens in GH2, if you look at the crowd when you are lower on the Rock Meter, then there's a low amount of people.

I never noticed that, unless it wasn't in the ps2 version

I think it was on both versions... I bought both, so i'm not sure which version i saw it in... I think it first happened with PS2. I could be wrong.

Well since the game venues are from all around thew world then am guessing each location is a major concert and you play 2-3 or heck even a setlist there and each venue or "Concer" has i dont know 50.000 fans or 100,000 also the number of Fans does something to the band ? performance ? or what you earn ? Am Just Guessing

Id Say That Theyll Have Your Score Then How Many Fans Voted On You If They Diddnt Like U Or If They Did Or If They Thought U Were Alight Or How Many Fans Attended The Show

Thats ridiculous since you make a better performance and get the fans going wild if you dont fail at the song

I think they might mean Setlist as in, set a list of songs and play them in the order you set them without dealing with a lot of stuff in between. Sort of like the Gig/Endurance Mode or whatever people have been wanting since GH1.

Part of me thinks certain setlist appeal to certain fans based on region.

But that part is drowned out by a louder part screaming "GIVE US CROWD SURFING!"

I totally forgot about Leipzig. Guess this guaranties new info from Pax and Leipzig (if any one know when Leipzig goes down please post it, I think it's late this month/early September, but I don't remember)

I really dig that idea Bakkster. That could be a very interesting way to do the economy/unlocks.

Oh and spraynwipe is a total rock tease.

There's the site but I can't read German.

I'm pretty sure it's something like August 24th-28th or something like that.

Leipzig is 23-26 August Since Harmonix are at PAX for the whole event which the 24-26 August there is no chance they will be at Leipzig unless they are there for the first day then fly back for PAX but i wouldn't think they would do that.. So us Europeans hoping to get some news look like getting nothing which leads me to believe Rockband isn't being released here this year. :(

Back on track.. yeah i think the setlist could be of our choosing which then could determine how well the fans react in the gig don't forget song choice is always on of the main things for a gig to do well pick a bad list and the fans walk giving you bad reviews and less cash but pick a good list and it get's the Fans going leading to great reviews and more cash..

Yes.
I want crowd surfing.
And people moshing.
And people rocking out to the beat.
And some people air guitaring in the crowd.

:D

I want a live crowd, not just sme generic one!

I think they will be at Leipzig, or else why would DanT mention it in his blog. You know there is more than one person working for Harmonix, it is possible they could be in two places at once. He also hints that we will be getting some nice info during those days, and if not, he would be posting more, including the stuff about setlists and fans afterwards.

I'm not exactly certain what the setlists and fans could have in common. Maybe you get to choose a setlist and the better your choices for certain venues the more the fans like you. Or maybe you can only get certain setlist by playing for certain fans. I really don't know, it could be anything, I'll be interested to see what it is at the end of August.

I think it'd be pretty sweet to be able to choose your setlist for a show/concert and not have to stop all that much in between songs.

Crowd surfing is always a plus, too, so why not pop up with a little "Crowd Surf?" thing near your note chart and if you ace a solo, or something, then you go crowd surfing and don't have to play, but get those notes that you didn't have to play added to your streak.

Crowd differing in size to change how much cash you get from a song/set/show would be awesome and actually realistic, I'm all for that.

if i import it from america will it work on my european 360?

ohh man, I went to see Exodus the other night and the crowd was going nuts, I really hope the crowd in RB feels like a real thing.
Mosh pits, crowd surfing, passing the mic to people in the audience, throwing drumsticks into the crowd and everyone in the crowd kills each other for it. Well the last two might not be possible, but that is what happens at real shows.
I like the set list idea, it reminds me of Concert mode on the scorehero forums. It would be fun to play five or more songs in a row.

All that's confirmed for EA's presence in Leipzig is Spore. Which is pretty lame for such a big developer/publisher. So my guess is that EA is going to announce some more titles that'll be in Leipzig.
As far as the PAX/Leipzig thing; it's possible that HMX is showing off at PAX and some EA guys will be presenting Rock Band thingies. Honestly, all I'm interested right now is what venue(s) in Amsterdam they're using, what tracks I can expect and what types of packs are going to retail. As far as I'm concerned, an intern can do that job for all I care :)

Your "current status with helen" deal is kinda creepy.

anyways, if there is a setlist mode this game got 100x better for me

I speak German. And I've been to Games Convention (or Lepzig, how you like to call it) a few times before. Sadly I can't be there this time. (Not enough money at the moment)

Anyway, the GC is at the end of August, 23th - 26th.

They might show one or two new songs there, hm? :D
Oh and, EA always had big shows at the GC, they always showed their whole important lineup. And they will show a lot this year too, I'm sure of it. Rockband is definitely there.

BTW, there is a Link at the top of the page where you can set the page to English language. ;)

what I meant was that EA is a multi-billion dollar company, housed in several countries, and they bring one game? I wasn't saying Spore's lame (Spaore will probably rock, if it ever gets finished), I was saying that EA bringing 1 game to Leipzig is lame.

I was just thinking. One thing I'd like to see on the fans are bandshirt, with the name and logo of the band printed on them :)

For the last time, they won't bring only one game, they'll show their whole lineup, including Rockband.

Dan posted his blog after i posted my comments being in the UK means I wouldn't have seen his blog post until the next day due to the time zone difference as when he posted his blog it was the early hours of the morning for me and i would be in bed. but yeah it's good to see that there will be some presence at Leipzig as to how big and what news we will get if any is yet to be seen.
