When playing the drums is it possible for the drums to break?
In any way.
Like if you hit a pad to hard and it just ripped

I heard they were pretty durable, so unless you've used it for quite a while and always hit it hard, then yeah they would break pretty fast, but other than that, they are pretty durable.

Unless you play with knives or a chainsaw, I don't think they'll break.

From the pictures I've seen of the drumset, the texture of the pads I think resembles that of a rubber practice pad or of the REMO 'real drumhead' practice pads that are really durable and, if they were used for RB, would last forever. Also, if anyone has played 'Taiko Drum Master', the Taiko drum is made of a lighter, but durable, plastic that, when I bang on it, sounds just like the drums do in the RB videos that we've seen so far; a rather load and sharp *clank*. The drumset is really simple due to packaging and making the box as small as possible, but, the set looks strong and built to last, so I don't think you gotta worry about any ripping or anything.:)

I'm not worried. I used to break drumheads all the time until I started using my wrists more than my arms. Now, it's hard for me to break a head unless I'm trying to do it on purpose.

but my guess is that they are made out of the same stuff as the Real Drumhead Practice Pad as mentioned above. If they're made of that stuff, then there's no way they'll break unless someone on a 'roid rage plays your kit.

I heard that they were made of some kind of foam. I don't think you can hit foam with a non-sharp object hard enough to break it.

They look like the rubber used for the Roland V drum series which is very tough and can take a hell of a beating and dosn't wear out as much like a regular head can.. could be wrong though but that's what looks like to me.

Harmonix would damn near have to use kevlar to keep complaints from popping up all accross the world. People who don't play real drums can hit pretty hard when they get excited.

I trust that they'll make the peripheral durable. You should do it too.

It could have a layer of real tough rubber and then underneath it is a layer of foam.

Well, I can't exactly imagine that Harmonix has made some sort of indestructible alloy to build the drum kit out of...;)

I bet they can break, but only as easily as anything else. They've probably got a certain amount of wear and tear in 'em.

Mine broke... just playing normal (and I'm a drummer so I know I'm using good form).

See my other thread here: Drumhead Cracked (http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=9783)

My bass pedal snapped in half playing on medium.. im not a drummer but im pretty sure i wasnt stomping it or anything... the pedal has a gap where theres no stop for the middle.. serious design flaw. If only there was a peice of plastic to stop the pedal from flexing in the middle this would not have happened.. hope the warranty covers janky craftsmanship

The bit that's most likely to break is not the head itself but the trigger, or the wiring from the trigger to the PCB. Has anyone opened one up to see how vulnerable those bits are?
