:)Well here is a super easy fix. I had a small rattle in my green drum head. All the rest felt solid but this one. I popped it open and found that the wires to the sensor were rattling on the plastic bottom section.
To fix it all I did was take the felt section of a piece of velcro. Place it under the wire to the wire rests on top of it. TADA.....no more rattle.

Drum head sounds solid like the rest.

Y'know, I had this problem in the set I just RMA'ed, and it drove me crazy, because I could never diagnose the cause. can you just use electrical tape to keep it from rattling, as well?

I guess you could tape it down. I just didnt want to keep the wire from moving or anything. I just felt if I had some type of material to quiet it then all be good.

I had the same problem but fixed it in a slightly easier way.

I popped the drum head off, rotated it (this changed the wire's placement and amount of slack), and put the drum head back on.

After that there was no more buzz/rattle.

I have the same problem with my BLUE pad. I thought at first I had a cracked pad, but nope. I took it off and checked, and found that even with the pad off the sound was still there. Now I know how to fix it. Thanks to the OP!

How exactly do you take the top off? Do we just yank it hard until it comes off?

^^Pull up around each of the four rubber plugs. I just take one plug out at a time.

Same here. I just made sure the wires were not pressed against the plastic. Make sure the wires aren't laying on the foam, this presses them against the drum head plastic and causes the rattle when hit.

Be careful taking the plugs out, go one at a time, and go slow. It also helps quite a bit to push them up from the bottom while pulling from the top. You can tear the rubber if you put too much stress on it. But really, it's not too bad with just "common sense" caution.

I had a rattle in my blue QM drum and I found that it was a loose screw inside the drum head that was supposed to be one of the screws holding on the rubber bumper...
