So whoever added the hysterical "Rock Pack" to Wikipedia for next week's DLC (assuming you're on this board somewhere), you might want to double-check your facts before trying to pull off a hoax.
Last I checked, "American Woman" was by The Guess Who...Not The Who.

Wikipedia and false info is kind of redundant.

(whoops I corrected, hopped up on medicine over here and not thinking straight!)

Wikipedia and false info is kind of an oxymoron.

You keep using that word...I do not think it means what you think it means.

Wow did you see the other two songs? This guy is trying to pull off Stairway to Heaven and Feel like Makin Love. Yesterday it was the Dark Side Of The Moon hoax and now this.

Ooh crap, I missed the Dark Side hoax. And I can see Feel Like Makin' Love getting into the game, especially since Shooting Star is all but confirmed. Stairway, on the other hand...

Yeah, I missed the Dark Side hoax yesterday, but heard about it quickly on an earlier thread.....Woke up this morning to the Stairway listing and thought immediately someone must have had a good night partying it up and decided to edit wiki up to there liking.

As you wish.

Maybe HMX could get Zeppelin songs if they get the rights from the people that wrote them. Oops LZ already stole the rights too.

Ouch. Low blow to such big legends. But we can't all hide from the truth :(

I heard "Train Kept a Rollin'" (obviously by Aerosmith but it fits in here) was also a song stolen from poor black people in the south.

At least Aerosmith pulled off most of their hits on their own.

Ironically Train Kept a Rollin was a Yardbirds song and Jimmy Page was in the Yardbirds. :D

Also if you want Zeppelin, if one of their songs was licensed today, the earliest you'd see it would be summer.

Stairway is original
Black Dog is original
Rock and Roll is original
Immigrant Song is original
Moby Dick is original
Over the Hills and Far Away is original
The Rain Song is original
Fool in the Rain is original
No Quarter is original
Dancing Days is original
Misty Mountain Hop is original

Get my point? I could go on.

I saw another hoax yesterday...

They filled in the Who's Next and Nevermind album release dates...for February 22.
Obviously it was fake, since thats a Friday. Lmao.

 Fine then, here's an incomplete list of original material by Led Zeppelin. Parentheses denotes who wrote the song.

"In the Evening" (John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant)
"South Bound Saurez" (Jones, Plant)
"Fool in the Rain" (Jones, Page, Plant)
"Hot Dog" (Page, Plant)
"Carouselambra" (Jones, Page, Plant)
"All My Love" (Plant, Jones)
"I'm Gonna Crawl" (Page, Plant, Jones)
All of Presence is original material.
"Houses of the Holy" (Page, Plant)
"Trampled Under Foot" (Page, Plant, Jones)
"Kashmir" (Page, Plant, Bonham)
"The Song Remains the Same" (Jimmy Page, Robert Plant)
"The Rain Song" (Page, Plant)
"Over the Hills and Far Away" (Page, Plant)
"Dancing Days" (Page, Plant)
"D'yer Mak'er" (Page, Plant, Jones, Bonham)
"No Quarter" (Page, Plant, Jones)
"The Ocean" (Page, Plant, Jones, Bonham)
"Black Dog" (Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones)
"Rock and Roll" (Page, Plant, Jones, John Bonham)
"The Battle of Evermore" (Page, Plant)
"Stairway to Heaven" (Page, Plant)
"Misty Mountain Hop" (Page, Plant, Jones)
"Four Sticks" (Page, Plant)
"Going to California" (Page, Plant)
"Immigrant Song" (Jimmy Page, Robert Plant)
"What Is and What Should Never Be" (Page, Plant)
"Heartbreaker" (Bonham, Jones, Page, Plant)
"Moby Dick" (Bonham, Jones, Page)
"Good Times Bad Times" (Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, John Bonham)
"Communication Breakdown" (Page, Jones, Bonham)
And several others left out from Coda and Physical Graffiti.

Is that enough for you? Yes, they ripped off like, what, 7 songs? That barely compares to their extensive list of original material. Also, you say Stairway rips off Taurus. That gets a bolded "YEAH RIGHT." Taurus sounds nothing like Stairway, nothing.

How many millions of dollars did they earn off songs written by someone else? They are nothing more than hacks and thieves. Their sound, I will conceed, is unique. There it ends.

Taurus sounds nothing like Stairway, nothing.

Sure, whatever you say. There is absolutely no similarity between the intros in both songs. They never covered Taurus early on in their career just like they never opened for them either.

Their most financially successful albums either were completely original or the covers were credited. Case in point, LZ4 was their most financially successful album and it only had one cover, which was credited.

Taurus is an instrumental with little to no drums, bass and much of anything other than a repetitive guitar line that has 2 notes that are like Stairway and a screechingly high-pitched violin/keyboard in the background.

(whoops I corrected, hopped up on medicine over here and not thinking straight!)

you guys are idiots. they did a study 2 years ago, and wikipedia was found to be as accurate as britannica online (assuming you even know what that is...which is doubtful)

wikipedia relies on people to create/edit the pages so that they stay updated--if one idiot tries to be funny and posts fake DLC, that doesn't automatically mean that the thousands and thousands of wikipedia entries are unreliable...

not to mention you didn't even use oxymoron correctly in your initial post..

Satisfaction
