Hey everyone,

Is it possible to transfer a Band onto a memory stick and bring them onto another Xbox.
The reason i ask is because a few of us played on a friends Xbox, but he doesnt have Live so we never downloaded any songs. But now we want to play on a different xbox that does have DLC.
Any help would be great

Thanks

USB memory stick, no.

Actual Microsoft-branded memory card, which plugs into the memory card ports instead of the USB ports, yes. I do it every day, so I can play the same band at home and at the office.

Just make sure to also put the gamertag that owns the game save file on to the same memory card, or you will not be able to use it.

Woo... now I know the Beer Belly Babes can go on tour for real now... sorta... in a way. xD

How much space does the gamertag + band profile take up anyways? I'm assuming a big card is not required? Can I get away with buying a smaller card considering this is probably all I'd be using it for?

And are you using the dashboard file utility or the Rock Band in-game data management utility?

Thanks,
Jets

A very small card will work. Unless you also want to load some DLC songs on to it, which is something else I do. But one of my co-workers has just the 64MB card, and just for gamertag and band save data, it's plenty.

Hmmm, I didn't know I could store the DLC songs on it too. How much do those take up? Maybe I'll buy a larger card.

So basically I'd go to the dashboard utility, copy my profile, my save game, and any DLC songs I want, then I can bring that card over to a buddy's place, start a band, and save the band onto the card. Basically we want to be able to play as 'our band', along with all my DLC, and maintain our progress, on any XBox 360.

Which sounds like what you're doing?

Thanks for the info!

That is in fact what I'm doing. But be careful -- the DLC will only work if the console you're using is on the network.

For XB360, DLC only works when it's used on the console you originally downloaded it to or if the gamertag that did the downloading is logged in to XBox Live. So when I carry my DLC around on a memory card and plug it into just any old random XBox, it only works if that random XBox has a network connection.

(The XBox we have here at the office has a direct twisted pair connection to Internet2. The one I have at home is connected to my broadband. So I'm always on the net, and it always works for me.)

Right, I guess that's all part of the DRM. The DLC is linked to a gamertag, and that must be gamertag that is logged in as the lead profile of the 360 you are trying to access the songs on.
