I think you'll be hearing both yourself and the actual song's singer, possibly.

I have a similarly related question: when playing online will you be hearing whoever is chosen as singer or the singer from the song?

Well yeah but thats if you chose to, you can adjust the original vocals and your own.

You hear both when your singing on your tv.
You will probably hear both when your online, too.

In the Welcome To the Jungle video on Youtube you hear both BUT on the E3 video you only hear the girl singing.
hope this helps

You will hear your voice over the original singer's voice. Meh.

All the volume levels are adjustable.
You can raise or lower the song's audio track, as well as raise or lower your own.
So you can have only the real vocals, only your vocals, or a mix between them.

Ever try playing GHII with the guitar turned all the way down? What about the band? It's fun, and is relative to this thread.

That's strange. They really don't read what you say. I've noticed this on multiple occasions.

So it's going to be just the actual singer's voice coming out of the speakers?

I'm still thinking you wont be able to hear the singers voice if you are playing online and they are not in the room with you. Unless the latency solution HMX has come up with is incredibly awesome then it wont work.

Instruments are all fine though, get vocals is the tricky part.

Does it matter if the player's vocals come outof the speaker, when the singer is 2 feet away from you??
This may even create an odd echo effect between the actual singing and the voice coming from the speakers? :S

It matters what the settings are. You can set the songs vocals from all the way off to completely on, or anywhere in between, if they are all the way up you wont be able to here your singers voice at all, just the real ones, anywhere in between it will be a mix of the two, and if it is off then you will only hear your singers voice.

Think singstar. Adjust how much you wanna hear. Hopefully upload your god awful version of Main Offender to the internet for us all to flame you... but we can do it via voice chat. Ah... the shouts of noob... good to be back in gaming :P

has this issue been discussed before? when you mentioned it i was thinking, "you're right. hows it going to work out for online..." but now that i think about it a little more, why would button presses be any different from singing? im sure when they designed the online format they would make it so that it synchs correctly, otherwise everyone's parts would be all over the place.

Ok let's say I'm playing guitar or drums, and I'm playing online and I can't stand the singer's voice, do I have the option to adjust the volume between the bad singer and the master track on my console, even though the singer might have the volume setting set to all the way up for their voice to be heard on their console?
