Band Creation...A Must Have!

I say, that in order to make this game good, we should have atleast SOME customization. How cool would it be to make your own logo, and on an online version of "Battle of the Bands" you were represented by it?

This would be a type of "clan" system, as in other games. Except, it's a band, not a clan obviously. Your band name would be beside your GamerTag, and if you won lots of "Battle of the Bands" maybe a band of the day, or week, or month, etc. could be placed on the XBL screen of Rock Band.

Yeah, would be a great idea. I'm hoping they have that sort of system, create your own band, and are able to 'Recruit' members online for your band. And play against other bands. It will be very difficult for this to happen, but Worth a shot.
Also I agree with the guitar, logo custimizations, But just a thought.. Dont you think it would be cool, if there was a 'Jam out' Mode, where you could record your own songs? That'd be awsome

The only problem with Logo customization is that you just know half the people's logo would be a penis, or a swastika, or something else that is offensive.

I've never noticed that kind of problem with other online games I play. If the admins are watching, stuff like that will be put down quickly.

Hopefully Xbox Live Vision will be implemented as well. If I'm playing with people all around the world, I'd love to see them.

Also, don't just give us selectable characters. Let us MAKE the characters.

I've thought about how far they could take band creations aswell, and implement the Battle of the Bands online tournaments. It'd be great especially if like you suggested you could create custom guitar paint jobs etc.

Just imagine if it was compatible with the new Playstation Eye camera coming out, people could actually watch the top bands battle it out in the finals... that'd be awesome. Of course the top bands would need cameras, but if they did they could all dress up similar etc, it'd be sweet! Highly unlikely, but sweet.

In WarCraft's battle.net you have your avatar and the more you level up, more avatars are available. So you start as peon and climb up to a mighty figther.

You could do that with the band's logos. You start up with the Fall Out Boys (or the new Green Day) logo and go all the way up to the TOP (AC/DC, Metallica, Incubus, etc).

It would never work. Seeing as you only have a few buttons that are meant to produce several hundred different note and chord sounds plus the harmonics and effects.....its just not possible.
Plus, whats to stop you from making a band in real life and jamming? We've been though these arguments before, keep in mind this is a game and stop trying to make it realistic.

First off the logo thing would be easy to monitor cause alot of games let u create logos, so if it was such a hot button issue it wouldnt be so widly accepted as a part of online gaming
Second i really hope that theres a create a character it doesnt even have to be so indepth just a really simple create a character more in the lines of halo 2 for example 3 male body types cause there are only 3 in guitar hero 2 that i have noticed, and 3 for females than simple outfits it doesnt have to be as deep as tony hawk american wasteland than they can just give u control over the colors it wouldnt take that much work so it wouldnt destract designers from the core of the game. Also there has to be more than 1 or 2 african american characters available being an african american youth it would help to make the game more diverse than past guitar hero games

After seeing the screenshots from the latest blow out that exactly what I was thinking. The characters all look like thats who they are and you cant change it (could be wrong). But yeah, being able to unlock new clothes similar to GH2, but with more options would be cool. Different hair styles would be good too, to match the clothes/accessories.

The designs on the clothes look cool too, epecially on the pants, and the guys jeans all ripped up with patches and stuff looks cool.

Well I won't comment on their musical talents as they obviously have fans for some reason, but I might suggest that the reason for their (along with Fall Out Boy, etc) hate is because the fans of other stuff like metal and older rock and whathave you (which have been predominant in GH) just don't really mesh with it.. and to an exent, the current trends of popular rock I guess.

But anyway, this thread has been off topic for long enough I'd say.

I agree with those who said you should be able to create a band and play against other bands. It would be fun to have battle of the bands and see who is the best band of the week, month, etc.

But i dont see it happening unless they patch it after release.

I hope they do add something like that though i would definitely love to face-off against other bands!
