The reason we are seeing the same bands for DLC

That thread goes over the entire process of selecting DLC and getting it on the game. The DLC we are seeing right now is DLC that was set up back when the game came out meaning that within another 3 months we can be seeing plenty of new bands because they're are probably signing liscensing deals with new bands as we speak. This is also the reason you don't get the songs you requested a week after you request them. This info can also mean that we could see bands like AC/DC and Led Zepplin in the future because of the games success.

That was interesting, but it doesn't explain why we don't have the promised Who's Next full album download (that was promised months before the RB came out) yet.

I seem to remember a couple of other album downloads that were promised, but I can't remember what they were.

Well I think they've had some technical difficulties on the whole album DLC's and also have wanted to get some patches out that will allow you to play the whole album back to back songs. And i think HMX is waiting for the oppritune moment to release the most anticipated DLC of all time

Ok, but I was kinda disappointed when I found out last week or 2 weeks ago (whichever one it was, I don't care) that we are going to have a total of 5 Police songs in the game available for download. 5? Are you kidding? I mean, I'm gonna buy Message in a Bottle and sing the hell out of it, but still. That's a little overboard for a pack and 2 singles to come out this early in the game's life.

ya i like the Police but there are a lot better bands for Rock Band. I also love the Clash but they could stop putting them in DLC too. Or even if they're not at least put London Calling up for DLC

I'm inclined to agree.

It's a Catch-22 for the developers, though. The casual fans want the tunes they know, the hardcore fans want the obscure stuff from a particular band. That's why I don't get too upset when, like this week, there's nothing I want to download. Hopefully the next week I'll get something I like.

That's not what a catch 22 is. A catch 22 would be, for instance, if no bands wouldn't allow their songs in the game until they saw how the game does, but the game can't be made unless bands agree to it. Not the best example, but I was trying to relate it to RB.

Good information there...I figured that it was a complicated long process to release dlc, but that's not the main reason why I've never griped about dlc (except for politely inquiring as to the status of the who's next download about a week ago). the main reason is that I realize that I'm not the only person out there with this game! I may be disappointed with some of the dlc...I know that almost nobody is gonna buy that thrash pack for example, but if somebody wants it I'm willing to wait for something else. I don't care what the dlc is, but the only thing I'd request is more information...if HMX knows (100% sure) what the next release will be, they should tell us immediately...at least I'd appreciate it. It seems like every other week there is a download release that I'm excited about, so I'd like to think that HMX knows what they're doing and I'm sure they'll continue to look over our requests and taking them into consideration, but the constant b****ing by forum newbies is really getting out of hand...by the way, I created a method of ranking the DLC by week, so if you'd like to let your opinion be known or if you want my opinion or the opinions of others (in graphical format!) click on my link... http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29251
