wow, yeah, **** those guys for not being Metallica, huh?

Quo Vadis are an amzingly good death metal band from Montreal, absolutely excellent musicians, check 'em out. maybe you'll see that they're ridiculously well known and respected.

Cryptopsy are also from Montreal and are also very, very well known in the metal communinty and highly respected, mainly for the drumming but the musicianship is also top notch. I know Skinless are fans of Cryptopsy, and thats all the endorsment you need.

Kataklysm are also a Montreal band, and are quite different from the traditional death metal mould. the drumming in preticular would be a blast to play, Nothern Hyperblast for the win!

all three are great, I highly recommend you guys look them up before totally doscounting them because you havent heard of them.

and just for the hell of it, some Mucopus (just since no one here seems to know who they are and its a crime because they're all really excellent musicians, especially the bassist):

Only Death metal i'd really like for RB is Opeth.

I hate Opeth, I used to dig them and can still listen to some of their early works but as far as it being death metal, they're about as death metal as Metallica is thrash metal.

regardless, are you telling me that druming along to that Quo Vadis song in preticular wouldnt rule? Quo Vadis are so amazingly good that anything would be a blast to play and the vocal style is so clean for death metal that you wouldnt need the "death grunts." in fact, I'd compare his vocal style to Jeff Walker of Carcass (really clean, almost talking into the mic with some rasp thrown in).

Ehh, but for the most part, Death Metal vocals aren't fun, and wouldn't really work, as in, it wouldnt be detecting the shouty/raspy parts.

I dont see why not, man. its all based on pitch, if anything death metal vocals would be easier to pull off (or so I assume, I could be wrong).

besides, for DLC its not like anyone is forcing you to download and play the songs, I just think it would be nice for fans of different styles of metal to have the option to play songs by their favourite bands. I love thrash metal but I'm bored of it being my only heavy metal option to play in the game (thrash is pretty paint by the numbers stuff, song structures are all relitively the same and the vocal style is usually in the higher pitched region, which I cant do).

and while we're on the subject of thrash metal, a more diverse choice of bands would be great. some Death Angel in preticular would be great.
