MTV Games I'm guessing?
I'm aware that most often the publishers try to acquire all of the intellectual property rights for what developers create. So I'm assuming it's not Harmonix.

It's probably MTV Games..... but essentially harmonix merged with them correct?

Shucks if I know.
The way I see it is that the drums are mostly in the game because MTV had experience with "DrumScape", and helped Harmonix along the way.
So I'd say that it's MTV.

MTV Games I believe. And yes MTV owns Harmonix which actually goes deeper making them a Viacom subsidirary. All that considered it may be Viacom. Now I confused myself.

I'm confused where does EA fit in, are they just the publishers?

I believe EA covers peripherals, ads, packaging, etc.
I know no matter what Harmonix owns the technology. They always assured that.

I believe the way it is is this:
HMX: Developer
MTV: Publisher
EA: Distributor
Don't quote me on this though. And if I had to guess, I would say MTV technically owns the IP.

I don't really see how that's relevant. I'm not asking about this site.

Bull****! You asked about who owns the IP. This comes right off of the site your dumb ass is on. Its very relevant. You asked a question you got your answer. You've got nearly the same answer from everyone else thats posted in this thread, yet decide to utilize my post for your sarcastic, rude ass response. Get bent assclown.

Seriously, is there something in the water today?
These are the Rock Band forums. Can't we all please get along? Or at least not turn a majority of the threads into flamewars. Is that really how anyone wants to spend their time here?
I'm not even singling anyone out but it it is starting to become an epidemic.

I agree completely and apologize for the random outburst there. Its just funny that everyone else will post the same or similar info, yet he decides to single out my post to be a jerk. Moving on.....
So who does own this baby. I assume you'd know hmxsean.

Um. Okay. My "dumb ass" still doesn't see where in that text bit intellectual property rights were laid out. And, yes, I got the answers from other people which is fine. I didn't respond to those because I still haven't gotten a definitive answer. I wasn't trying to single your post out. I was just wondering what you were trying to say by pasting that blob of text. I didn't see an answer to my question in there, which I why I stated that I didn't see how it was relevant. I still don't see. Could you please clarify what in there is specifically answering my question? All the other posts were clear to me, yours was not. I don't see how my response was sarcastic at all. Nor do I see how it was rude. If you had posted a text snippet that stated the specific owner of the IP outright, I would have thanked you. I didn't mean to offend you at all. Sorry if it came across that way.
