XBOX 360 --> Dual Microphones?

Before I run out and buy a second microphone I was hoping someone could answer the question for me....

What if I plug in a second USB mic? Would they both work on the song? I'm not looking to have to people sing at once, just let them switch on and off....

Second question, if that does work will any USB mic work as a secondary one?

They say almost any USB mic will work.

You can use the Xbox 360 headset as a mic.

While both the Xbox 360 & PS3 versions say you can use any USB mic with Rock Band, I haven't seen anything indicating that the feed from a second mic would be recognized by the game. Has anyone tried having two mics connected for Rock Band play and verified that the input from both would be recognized by the game? I'm not saying it can't be done or anything, just curious as to whether it HAS been done by anyone. Would be a reason to pick up another USB mic for my system if it did!

The way I got two people singing was to go via a mixing board and then into a single usb port. And that became an option only because I broke my mic so i had to hack the game mic to allow me to use a normal mic.
