The punk songs in Rock Band stand out as the least fun to play and sing (note: I am not judging any of the music based on whether I prefer to listen to it, simply on how challenging, novel, and exciting the note charts and vocals are). I'm sorry, they mostly seem to be repetitive button smashing. That button smashing may be difficult, but only because it tests how fast I can continuously tap a button...
Given the wealth of great music/artists that would be extremely fun to play but have not been touched, I'm not sure why more punk is necessary. I can only hope that the sales of that DLC is bad enough that they will stop releasing it.
Last week was the first week I couldn't even bring myself to download any of the new music.

Not a fan of punk, myself. I agree as they tend to be very boring and blah with the group of people I play with.

The Police song from last week is great and is only (Arguably) punk....

Are you kidding the punk songs are the best songs in the game exept for the classic rock songs. they are alot of fun to play. and even more to sing. its much funner to play something rpeditive than something that is so hard that its annoying and its not even a good song
plus complete control is no way near repeditive

Wish we had some Kennedys.. Dead Kennedys, to be exact. =)And maybe toss in some Rancid.

yah it is repetitive, but if you like the songs in question (which, it would appear that you dont), it wouldnt bother you.
if they put in This is Radio Clash, that would be great (the introductory maniac yell is enough fun as it is)

I love playing "Ever Fallen in Love" more than any other song

I don't really feel one way or the other about listening to punk (I listen to just about everything except for bubblegum pop nonsense... which thankfully has about a 0% chance of being offered for DLC), but the charts for the punk songs in this game just put a beating on your strum finger and don't give you anything to grab for with your fret hand...
I also play drums pretty well at this point (when they aren't broken) and drums don't seem much better.
I understand that musical taste enters the argument at some point and I'll be arguing up and down for certain bands/types of music over others like anyone else, I've just had quite my fill of punk. I'm not a huge fan of most metal, but at least I think it's fun to play in the game.
This, I think, is the challenge facing Harmonix. They need to pick songs that will be really fun to play and that the majority of people will know. Often these are not compatible.
If it is just that Harmonix is picking the wrong songs from the punk genre, then so be it, but I've not been impressed with the selections thus far.

No more punk? How else will I wear out my guitar by strumming every 1.0 seconds for a 1:59 minute song?

After seeing the police live, I'll probably download all of their songs... still, this one wasn't as good as their others.

im not against punk music at all, (cause i listen to it alot) but i think that RB has a little too much of it. I mean like the balance is off, you need more of the other types of Rock, rather than adding lots of punk

Way too much punk. The vocals on most of the songs are really easy, the chord charts are repetitive and after two plays pretty boring, drums are the same as the guitars. I like to listen to punk every now and then but there should be more challenging songs introduced into the game. The only arguably punk song that I enjoy to play every now and then is synchronicity II
