yeah they're one of my favorite band also but their latest album (a weekend in the city) isnt really guitar driven but rather leans towards the more mellow electronic sound that isnt fitting for this game. however a few song from the first album (silent alarm) would work alright but probably wouldnt be very challenging. i think if any brit post-punk group were to be included it would be franz ferdinand or possibly the kaiser chiefs.

I agree completely with this guy *thumbs up*. Banquet or Helicopter or even both would make for awesome playing in RB. The rythmn, bass, drums and singing could all be done and it suits the style of RB, so its a must have.

And i gotta agree, new Bloc Party stuff isnt RB material, but its still mighty fine music :D

One of the best bands at the moment!! I've been to their concert in Vienna in Mai.

Their fukkin awesome!! I really want them in the game. I even would like to have both albums as DLC.

I think the best songs for the game would be This Modern Love, The Pioneers, Positive Tension or Kreuzberg.

God, Schultzy, why!?? You have to listen to them. They're amazing.

The Pioneers

Much love for Bloc Party!

PLEASE not Banquet or Helicopter. I mean, okay, better than no Bloc Party but those two songs are the most played, most heard songs. They have even better ones!

Definitely need some Bloc Party! Helicopter, Luno, and The Prayer would be my top picks but ideally I'd want them to have both Silent Alarm and A Weekend In The City as downloadable albums.

100% Bloc Party in RB!!!!

I have to say that this, "I have never heard of them so no" **** is lame. First, if you like rock, you should of heard of Bloc Party by now, second, ruling out a band because you are musically ignorant is ridiculous.

Sorry for the rant. :p

u're right, not as much guitar on A Weekend in the City, but listen (and not just to the first minute) of Song for Clay (Disappear Here), Hunting for Witches, Waiting for the 7:18 (first 3 songs on the album there), Uniform (by far my favorite song on the album), Kreuzburg, I Still Remember, Sunday, SRXT and tell me they wouldn't fit for this game. btw, i just listed 8 of the 11 songs on that album.

i also think more than "a few" songs would work for Silent Alarm. I'd go so far to say the entire album would be completely awesome to play (possibly excluding Compliments, but if they took out the 1 min. intro of random sounds, this song would be cool too). and not challenging? i definitely think if they include Helicopter (almost has to be the front-runner for a song on the game disc by Bloc Party) that it would be one of the harder level songs, the riff in that song is sick. i think HMX knows whats up. i love Franz, and Kaiser Chiefs are ok, but Bloc Party blows both of them out of the water. Not even in the same league as far as I'm concerned.

I haven't heard much from these guys (intentionally, actually) because the two songs mentioned before are really overplayed, but I have to say I really liked "This Modern Love" and "Kreuzberg" from those videos posted. I would love to play those.

So I agree, BP in RB.

I still think that if Bloc Party was ever to be added to RB, "Helicopter" is the best choice in that it is one of their better known single and it has a good balance of guitar, drums, and vocals.

Well, like I said, that's the one song I don't want, I would even prefer Banquet over it. Helicopter is just so overplayed. And songs like The Pioneers or This Modern love are just better. And still as well suited for Rockband as Helicopter may is. Besides, Helicopter is not really great to sing in my opionion, where those other songs would be great to sing.

Helicopter is overplayed??? man, i WISH i had radio stations in my area that played ANY Bloc Party. it's all clear channel corporate crap. needless to say, i never listen to the radio EVER, all ipod for me. i have to find my own music, and i like it that way.

NOTE TO SELF.......ANTI!!! are u serious? u don't think that would be fun to sing? i just think that if u really want Bloc Party in RB, u shouldn't be picky about it. i would take any and all BP in RB.

Yeah, sure, as long as it is Bloc Party I'm happy, but I still hope it's not Helicopter or Banquet, but one of the songs I listed.

Nothing from the new album can be sued. It's all too downbeat and sappy. I think the Prayer would be the only one manageable from the new album.

HOWEVER, if we were to pick from Silent Alarm, then I'd love any of Banquet, Luno, Helicopter, or She's Hearing Voices. Playing SHV on drums would be my dream come true.

And then to give homage to Bloc Party, they could put Death From Above 1979's cover of Luno on here, too. Sure, there's no synth in the game, but you can replace that with guitar effects, and you've got Jesse's two parts covered.. Then just force your drummer to sing, and voila! One Sebastien Granger!

I think the Prayer is the one song from Weekend... that works the least. Kreuzberg would be great. Sunday or I still remember would be awesome too!!

But as long as Bloc Party is in the game... :D

They are needed HMX!! BC is one of the best bands out there at the moment... I can't believe that bands like Jet or OK GO are in the game and not BC!!??

i agree with u Coldplayer, i love The Prayer, but i dont think it would work in RB at all. the only guitar part in the entire song is the solo, granted, the solo is kick @$$, but its very short.

Boomshine, if u didnt see it, check out my post on the 2nd page. its basically the ultimate Bloc Party setlist for RB. and btw, the actual version of Luno is WAAAYYY better than that cover. Not saying the cover is bad, its just that BP is infinitely better at their own song.

Absolutly agree. Ahh... I just love Bloc Party.

Did anyone of you already see them live? I've seen them a few months ago in Vienna. They were awesome, but unfortunately the acoustic in the hall wasn't the best.

I saw them a few months ago in DC. AWESOME, AWESOME show! a few of my friends knew people that saw them for the Silent Alarm tour a while back and said it wasnt all that great. i just couldn't believe that. so i had to set the records straight that they really are the shiznite! the lead singer jumped off the stage and ran down the middle isle and sang for a few minutes about 10 feet away from my seat. it was so cool. my favorite song of the show was This Modern Love. they just owned that song live! they are already one of my all time favorite bands.

Yeah, saw them in Portland back in May if I remember correctly. It was a good show, but I just really don't like the downbeat sappiness and sentimentalism out of A Weekend in the City. Not that I don't enjoy a sentimental song, but it's just too depresso for me. :(

It looks like Bloc Party has made it into GH III, with, what else, "Helicopter". Now, is there any chance that it could get ported over to Rock Band?

This video shows a couple of clowns from a French gaming site playing it on Easy:

man, this is kinda good news, kinda bad news. i really don't know what to think. i wanted this song in RB sooo badly becuase the drums would be a blast to play and it has great vocals. so on one hand i'm excited its in GH3 (i'm gonna get that regardless), but a bit dissapointed that it probably will not be in RB (at least on the game disc). i'm still holding on to some hope that Bloc Party will be in RB, game disc or DLC.

and btw, i officially HATE those 2 guys in that video, especially the ahole rolling around on the ground while playing. what a douchebag...

Oh god, and don't know what to think either!!

I want Bloc Party so much in Rockband!!

It's awesome that I can play it in GH3, but since they are in GH3 I don't think they will be in Rockband. At least not on the disc.
Also I would like another song, not Helicopter, but whatever, as long as it is Bloc Party. I don't think the vocals on Helicopter are that great, but the drums definitely are!! (Like on every Bloc Party song actually)

Well, it's kinda awesome. Bloc Party is probably the best Rock Band out there at the moment.

HMX, take a look, you should put them on your list too if you know good music (And I know you do) - but please use another song - don't need another duplicate. Besides, Bloc Party has so many great songs.

omg! finally theres people on here who like Bloc Party, these guys are my second favourite band ever. Im pretty impressed that GH3 has 'Helicopter', that alone is enough for me to buy GH3 (along with 3's and 7's QotSA, Ruby Kaiser Chiefs and When you were young The Killers)

BUt RB song list is simply awesome so far, i mean they have Jet, Ok go, The Hives, Yeah Yeah Yeahs (yay! maps, great song), The Strokes and The Pixies.
i love every one of those bands and i cant wait to see the entire set list (it just better have Bloc Party or Klaxons >.<)

oh, i completely agree with you at this point. thats why i'm saying HMX needs to start making more of the announcements like they did with Grateful Dead. i feel like people arnt going to fully grasp the plan for DLC until they start seeing these mega name bands with multiple songs on RB. GH3 has a pretty rediculous setlist, but HMX can blow it out of the water with more DLC announcements...

Well, I actually love modern music a lot more than classic rock, but I still agree with you. But we have 10 songs left. There should be space for one Bloc Party song, that would'nt hurt anyone.

I'd say one Bloc Party song and the rest 80s and 60s music. (Although I would scream out loud because of joy if I suddenly see Placebo, Death Cab and Stars in there too)

I see no reason why Bloc Party can't be in RB.

Right now I'm ready for GH3 though, Helicopter helps, though I'd rather have something like "The Marshalls Are Dead" or "Positive Tension" but w/e.

If RB gets a BP song, forget about GH3, I'll pick up the Drum set + RB.

Yeah, it's actually strange, since Bloc Party has such a great drummer they would work even better in Rockband than in GH3. (Since you can't play drums in GH3 of course)

I've heard a bunch of songs, and i dislike their sound.

BUT I wouldnt mind if they appeared in the game, I think they'd be fun to play.
