Online Band World Tour?

I just got Rock Band two days ago and I'm still trying to learn what's possible with it. This might be a basic question but please don't flame

Is this even possible? I see threads of people trying to start bands together but whenever I go to it I can only create a band with people that are playing off my system. Am I doing something wrong or is this not possible?

first off good move getting this game it is a blast. I have only heard rumors of a patch to be able to play with members online in world tour mode. I have yet to actually see this posted from a developer, that does not mean that its not true. I think it would be a fantastic idea and if it happens I would love to get into an online band (besides just playing online mode with numerous different people)

Are you tryong to hook up with other people online to play with in a band? If so go to quickplay band.

Regarding your question, the developers are on record as stating that the decision to go live without the ability to do online World Band Tour was a very tough call, but one that was technically necessary to ensure the game made it out in time with the rest of the included feature set.

There are apparently several technical challenges that make online World Band Tour tough to pull off. HOWEVER, I suspect the Harmonix folks are hard at work trying to resolve those challenges for a future patch...the #1 new feature request appears to be enabling WBT with online players. I know it's #1 on MY wish list. :cool:

So in time it might be enabled via a patch...who knows?

In the meantime, we're stuck with online Multiplayer limited to band quickplay, tug of war, and score matches. Quickplay is fun, but the tug of war and ranked score matches are plagued with players that drop out when they start losing. Lame.
