View Full Version : Anyone else think they should try making it for PS2?

I understand that people think it should only be for the newest 3 consoles (Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360) but not everyone is able to afford to spend say 200 bucks for the game AND another 300 or so for console. Also, if the PS2 was to be forgotten, why would Guitar Hero 3 still come out for PS2 as I read that from an interview. I think they should at least consider it.

Just my 2 cents.

Flame on!

At some point the new generation of games will come, and at some point you will need to update your consoles.

I may think it is unfair to have to ever upgrade a system. I may think it would be better if we all were still playing our awesome magnavox Odysseys. And I am not sure where I was taking this point but ultimately I just wanted to make it clear that the next generation must come at some point, and at some point the old systems will be abandoned.

as soon as they retrofit that sucker to put 4 periphreals in there without that extra thing, i'll go for it. considering that most people do not have that item to allow for more than 2 controllers/periphreals, i do not believe that the ps2 would be a viable option.

Not to be a dick about it, but I'm happy that they're not making it for "current" gen consoles.. this way they can go about squeezing the most out of the systems they can, and not having to develop a feature set for the lowest common denominator. (Okay, I know we're not exactly talking about an FPS or GTA here, but who knows what they have in store for us)

PS2 may have been excluded because it doesn't have the processing power needed to do a satisfactory job.. it might not be as simple as adding more staff on to port a version over

I seriously doubt PS2 could handle 4 instrument streams, plus online play, plus the vocal processing.

GH3 is still coming out for it because 3 million people have GH guitars, and the engine is already built, it's a simple matter of porting in some scripts and sound files and shipping it(because all the hard work applies to all 3 versions). The PS2 pretty much has this year left in it for any kind of serious development.

They could do for more money I suppose. Do a different guitar for the Ps2 Etc. However there wont be a multiplayer for it.. Which is the one reason im really excited about Rock Band. The multiplayer will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

not really, cause at best yould be hearing 2 out of the 4 instruments that should be there, unless it somehow notices whats not there and fills in the blanks.

its just flat out a No-go.
