Here is a list of songs by Australian artists from the 60s to the 00s, of varying styles. Some might be interesting for Rock Band DLC. I don’t necessarily endorse these songs. I imagine many would be recognised by Aussies (some only vaguely).
EDIT- **Additional artists located on page 2**
If you like a song, let Harmonix know. If you think a band sucks, or object to a song’s omission, feel free to share your opinion.
All songs include links to youtube.
EDIT- **All my links have decided to autoembed for no apparent reason. I have removed the links, but encourage you to search for the videos if you are interested**

Hi, i was Over in Oz in the back end of last year and there is a great new music scene happening over there as far as rock bands are concerned (well i say new, these bands are new to me and the rest of the world even though i remember hearing many of them have 3-4 albums under their belts)
I think that non-localised DLC would be great for people to hear new music they would usually miss out on. if HMX developed DLC for the Oz gamers in mind but still gave it a would wide release that would be great for everyone.
I'm strugling to remember a few band names at the mo, but when my brother returns from oz in a couple of months i'll be stealing all the CD's he's bought over there. lol

Don't Forget Wolfmother!!! X3
Don't worry, I haven't.:)
I focused on bands pre-2000 in the OP because I have better knowledge of older bands. I am happy if people wish to mention newer bands (Wolfmother, The Vines etc) or ones I missed (Powderfinger, Men at Work etc).
One of the best things about playing the Guitar Hero games was to discover bands which had not received airplay in Australia but obviously had in the US. My idea behind this thread, apart from filling in time until the game comes out over here, was to pass some of that back.

aside from everyone and their dog wanting AC/DC in the game, the next logical choice would be INXS. they have a plethora of hits to choose from and would fit the formula perfectly.

INXS would be great as the guitar riffs are memorable. I worry the interesting parts of the tune are often not guitar, though (keyboard, horns, harmonica etc).

Silverchair, like a few people mentioned would be cool. Maybe Emotion Sickness, Isreals Son and Freak would be nice.
Men at Work would be hilarious.
Sick Puppies... Pitiful, Cancer or My World would be alot of fun to play as well.

How about some Living End? Best Australian Rock band of the current decade. Craps all over Silverchair. And for some more recent music, how about some hardcore Parkway Drive and maybe some punk rock in One Dollar Short? Look these bands up. Great music and NEED to be in Rock Band, especially before garbage like *shudder* Faker.

Saw the Hoodoo Gurus live the other day. They are still awesome. I would love to see them in Rock Band. So many songs would rock hard and be fun to play.

Some absolutely awesome songs in that list. If we ever get an Aussie pack I'd kill to have Holy Grail by Hunters and Collectors as a part of it.

Agreeing with people who are saying that The Living End (anything off of their self titled album, and a fair few of the stuff on their other albums) would be a blast on every instrument. INXS, Powderfinger and Silverchair would all be good just for the fact that they're somewhat iconic as Australian bands go.
And because some extra chick singers would be nice, agreeing with the person who said Little Birdy would be pretty neat, and adding that I would love something by The Grates.

Good list, but you missed out Jet and British India just off the top of my head. Living End DLC would blow my mind
Parkway Drive and I Killed the Prom Queen are my 2 most frequented Aussie bands.

Been a while since I visited this thread. Thanks to those who have added their support, and to those who have added bands I am too boring or old to have considered.
I had some real doubts about creating it, as nationalism is bad enough without applying it to music. The reality though is that as I have grown up in Australia a large percentage of the musicians I grew up with are local. Rock Band, being an American product, was always going to be dominated by bigname and local US artists.
Hopefully the AU release of Rock Band 1 can see some additional AU/NZ songs in the game - thre or four is not enough!
