EL Fixes? (For expert drummers)

Hi All,

I just got a set of EL's from RMA and they're pretty crappy (see post http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30866).

Anyway, are there any good fixes for EL misses or deadspots? Just trying to find out before I send them back.

Only one fix.

RMA it!!!

My EL's red and yellow pad cracked. I didn't feel like immediate RMA, so I opened the pads up, forced the crack back into place, sealed with duct tape, and rubber-banded the red pad down. I've since requested an RMA :P

well my first set of ELs were great, yellow head cracked, its in the box waiting to go back, but the new set of ELs are the very stereotypical ELs everyone talks about, only works if I hit the exact center of the pad...

so beyond the penny mod, what can we do to up the sensitivity until i send my first set back, and then RMA the second (being canadian I get to wait 2 weeks for my replacement).
