This has been brought up before. My best guess about this was that Tug of War is somewhat like Face-Off, and Score Duel is like Pro-Face Off. I don't think anyone actually knows what they are though for certain.

I hadn't caught that before. I wonder why Band Co-op isn't listed in there. Strange. I believe Band World Tour is separate from co-op since co-op includes from 2-4 players and BWT is only all 4.

BWT isn't only four. It's been said MANY times that band world tour is for 2-4 players on any combo of instruments.

Obviously Band World Tour is not only all 4. They would never do something THAT stupid. You got a drum and a guitar, you play the World Tour with 2 players. There's nothing missing there: Band Quick Play and BandWorldTour (carreer), very same modes of GH, but now with co-op.

Band Co-Op is 2-4 players. Band World Tour is 4 players. If you only have two friends, go online and get one more. That is at least how I understand it from their descriptions on RockBand.com
Band Co-op Play: 2-4 people share the stage and work together to ignite the crowd.
World Tour Mode: form a band with friends and play venues around the world on a journey to rock stardom.
Now even though it doesn't say how many peopel are required for World Tour mode, to me creating a band with friends would require that you need 4 people, just a singer and a drummer or any other combination of less than 4 people does not seem like a full band to me.

I'll put money on you being right about both of those. The original Faceoff for GH really is just like tug of war, if you think about it.

God dammit Harmonix needs to clarify some of this so people can stop *****ing about it.

I wonder what will happen to those who bashed GHIII for being gimmicky when adding the Pro Face Off mode.

Pro-Face Off was added in GH II, and it is played out as follows: Two players play the same song at the same difficulty and the winner is whoever gets the most points. It is a step up - in my opinion from normal Face Off, where you switched off playing sections and you could play at any difficulty vs. any difficulty.
I think you were referrencing, battle mode, which is new to GH III, where you battle eachother with attacks such as breaking strings, lefty flip, double notes, etc... It seems pretty gimmicky to me, although it might be fun, I never thought it had much of a place in a music game.

I have honestly never played Pro Face-Off but it sounds like the natural evolution not gimmicky at all.
Now Battle Mode in GHIII is another story entirely.

Wow, I didn't see them before. I think I didn't see the modes before because I was like mesmorized by the awesome new RB menus. lol Great find Joigga!
Score duel seems self-explanatory; duel against eachother guitar to guitar, drums to drums, singer to singer for the biggest score, which is told to us on the RB website, and which is exactly face-off on GH, just a different name for it.
Tug of War is interesting though. I'm not sure, but I was thinking it could be like a band vs. band online thing in which the better your band plays, the more you're pulled towards winning and vice versa. Also, I was thinking that it could possibly be RB's competition against GH3's battle mode; Tug of War:confused: . But, otherwise, I dunno. I guess we'll find out about these modes officially in detail soon, or maybe even sooner because, since we haven't been formally informed of these modes, we obviously know something that we weren't supposed to find out about until later.:D

Yes, you're right, that is what I meant. People seemed to be against adding variations to the 2-player game. I don't think Battle Mode would be something I'd want to play that often, but it might be fun once in a while. I wonder if RB's variations will be along those lines too.

It is worth checking out but the emphasis on it is my problem. I see why it's being pushed for hype but still.

I really don't think World Tour will require 4 players (local or online). If that's the case I'll be pretty disappointed with the game. You can perfectly WT with 2 players and 2 CPU controled band members. I mean, one day 2 guys come to your place, you start a WT with 3 players. Next day one of them come back, you play the same saved game with 2 players, then on the weekend, 3 of them come and you finish the game with 4. What's the problem with that ??? it's not like the easiest thing in the world to gather 4 people to play one game.

you guys dont think tug of war would be two players playing the same song simultaneously and trying to outduel the other? (i guess like pro face off?) the more mistakes your opponent makes the more the rope goes in your favor until you finish him off or the song ends.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I'd wager those are placeholder names or code names for the multiplayer modes. Some sort of internal naming scheme.

Did you post the vid? Most people won't listen unless that you have the vid posted. And that is a long vid to watch 2x anyway.
