There has been some talk about drums in RB that if you can master the expert levels you could probably play real drums. How about guitar?, sure playing Guitar Hero or RockBand wont turn into a real guitar player, but how about improving your left hand finger dexterity? To all of you who have played GH how much have you improved on that field?
cus I saw a video the other day about a guy playing the Jordan guitar solo(on GHII) ....blew me away how fast he was.

Obviously GH isn't going to teach you real guitar. But just like how guitarists can take up playing the game a bit easier, I think it definately helps. It helps with finger dexterity, also finger speed, coordination and rhythm.

You saw him playing Guitar Hero, or real guitar? Probably GH.
But yea, years ago I tried guitar (never actually took any lessons) I sucked obviously. I could do basic power chords and such.
So of course, much like anyone who doesn't play real guitar, you suck at GH at first. After playing GH now since Dec. '06, I can definitely say that I can move my fingers like I never imagined. BUT, I still suck at real guitar of course lol
Guitar Hero may help you with your finger dexterity, that has to be true, but, it won't make you better at real guitar, in fact it makes you worse.
My cousin has been playing real guitar for a good 6-7 years (he's only 18) and he's really really good! He also loves to play GH, and of course he's excellent, BUT he said if he plays GH too much and goes a long time without playing real guitar, it actually makes him worse lol.
Overall, yes GH helps with finger movement and builds the muscles in them. But it won't make you better at guitar.
Drums on RB will teach you fundamentals such as keeping a beat, and coordination with using 2 hands and your foot at the same time. It won't make you a better drummer, but it might help you a little more than Guitar Hero can.

It's true. Same here. I get lazier.
