View Full Version : Rolling Stones Pack Prediction: Brown Sugar, Satisfaction & ...

There's gotta be a Stones pack coming, given the validity of that song list found in the DLC file now that Still Alive, El Scorcho, Why Do You Love Me, and Sex Type Thing have all been announced.
So, after Brown Sugar and Satisfaction, what do you think will be the third song??
You get one serious guess in the poll (what you think it will be, not what you want necessarily), then you can fill out a wishlist.
Serious: Paint It, Black
Wishlist:
- Get Off My Cloud
- Honky Tonk Women (has parts with too little bass however)
- Jumpin' Jack Flash
- Under My Thumb (I really hope it is this or Paint It, Black, I want to play Wyman's bass part on this)
- Street Fighting Man
- Can't You Hear Me Knocking
- 19th Nervous Breakdown
I vote for Loving Cup!!! Although since keyboards aren't in the game, perhaps paint it black would work better....

yea, and I stuck with the big hits, cause that's probably what it's gonna be... but maybe not, since HMX has shown propensity towards 'obscure' tracks, and Can't You Hear Me Knocking wasn't a 'big hit'.
All Down the Line and B*tch would be fun.

19th Nervous Breakdown is my pick its a fun upbeat song

I personally hope that is Can't You Hear Me Knocking

I'd like Paint It Black, but AFAIK the masters for it aren't usable for Rock Band since they aren't broken out by instrument. It's the reason PiB isn't playable in coop on GH3.
I'd settle for a cover though. :)

Paint it Black would be cool
if not Under my thumb or Miss you

Paint It Black PLEASE! One of my favorite songs.

Can't You Hear Me Knockin? would be so amazing to have...But more realistically I'm hopin for Street Fightin Man.

Paint It, Black, cuz it was already in GH3 and there seems to be a lot of overlap.
Wish List: Miss You, Rip This Joint, and *****.

well whatever it is, i hope it comes out soon! I was hoping it would be next week, but unfortunately NIN took the spot. But that means something will take its place in March, making march a bit more bearable. I hope its the who or the stones!

Now that I think about it, You Can't Always Get What You Want might have a chance, there are some interesting guitar parts in there, I guess I dismissed it at first because of the long intro. But I don't think thats a deterrent anymore. Plus it's on the Let It Bleed album, same as Gimme Shelter, maybe they can get the masters easily and in good quality for this too.

Plus, I want to see what the drums are like for Can't Always Get What you Want. Apparently Charlie Watts "had difficulty mastering the tricky groove," necessitating Jimmy Miller, the producer, to lay down the drums track.

We'll probly not get paint it black in a pack cause it'll be a cover. Unless the other two aree covers as well. I'd love to see Get off my cloud though

Can't You Hear Me Knocking is what I am hoping for. Paint It Black is a great choice too though.

I would predict Jumpin' Jack Flash. I would assume that everyone would prefer a master (which are available from the Stones) over a cover, so no Paint It, Black.
I would like some of their edgy music like Stray Cat Blues, Monkey Man, Let It Bleed, Midnight Rambler, *****, or Sister Morphine.
Or a master of their best song ever, Can't You Hear Me Knocking.

The Rolling Stones have too many great songs for this little guessing game to give me any...eh, satisfaction. Fact is, the Stone should be the ones to get an 18-song pack, not the Dead. I know the Dead are generally cool, and are likely being reasonable about the price they are charging for their songs, which is why we saw the announcement for an 18-song pack all those months ago, but in my mind there a few select bands that would merit an 18-song pack, adn the Stones is one of those bands.
What songs do I want to see? All the ones in the poll, plus, *****, Monkey Man, Happy, It's Only Rock N Roll, Let's Spend The Night Together, Miss You, Harlem Shuffle, Start Me Up, Midnigth Rambler, Tumbling Dice, Mother's Little Helper, Shattered, The Last Time, and there are many other album tracks that could be awesome.
Since I am almost exclusively drumming, Sympathy for the Devil would very fun, but it doesn't have any guitar for like almost 3 minutes, but when the guitar does kick in...it's like the single most spine chilling 30 seconds of guitar in rock history.

I hope for Mother's little helper.
Most likely Under my thumb, though.

My prediction is Jumpin' Jack Flash, I just have a feeling it will be. Although Paint It Black would be a good guess too since it was already in GH III.

Get Off of My Cloud or Jumpin' Jack Flash.
However, they're going to pick an obscure song I assume. A lot of the songs they've picked for bands weren't their hits (B-52) and I think in a pack of 3 with two songs that are arguably very recognizable hits there will be room for one "B-side".

If only Sympathy for the Devil had some more guitar in it. I'd love to play bass, drums, and especially vocals for that song.

Yeah, Roam was pretty obscure. It was only #3 on the charts.

I think its going to be singles.. similar to how there are 2 Iron Maiden DLC songs, but no pack.
If it was a pack, the third would have had to have been in that list.
And I don't believe Paint It Black is a possibility... didn't GH3 have issues with the master being mixed down (bass mixed with drums) and interfering with co-op? It would have to be a cover.

Ok, maybe it was a poor choice of words. I give up.

Start me up is a very good one for the game but jumpin jack flash, street fightin man, or honkey tonk women would all be great! (pretty much anything by the stones i would buy)
Sympathy for the devil would be unbelieveable!

Under my thumb is a great song to have in the game. So is Honky Tonk Women.

Glad to see Under My Thumb getting some votes, sometimes I can't decide if I want that or Paint It, Black more...

I have to say that i'd have to predict Mother's Little Helper, as it seems like a very "Harmonix" song. while not obscure, it's a bit more musically interesting, which seems to be more important to harmonix that popularity.

Yea, cause you wonder, what are they going to pair Pinball Wizard with if the Stones get their own pack...
hmmmm The Who Pack Prediction Poll?
I would like to see a Stones Pack, and then a separate British Invasion pack with Pinball Wizard, Cream, and ... Jimi Hendrix Experience is british enough.

As a big Stones fan (and to those who have been praising Sticky Fingers I fully agree and dare say it was the best album of the year in the same year that saw Led Zeppelin IV and Who's Next - 1971, what a year for music) there are many obscure songs I'd love to see - Child of the Moon - but a well known song that I think would be perfect and fantastic...

"Sympathy For The Devil" needs to be the third song. "Please allow me to introduce myself/ I'm a man of wealth and taste". Best opening lyrics in rock. Plus awesome drums and guitar solo.

Do you want to make it BluEyes? I'm not sure if I would know which songs to pick for the poll. The Seeker, My Generation, The Kids Are Alright.
I'm not sure yet if songs like I Can See for Miles and I'm Free would translate well for Rock Band.
I goddamn can't wait for Who's Next though!

I'm gunna guess Can't You Hear Me Knockin' (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31941&page=2&highlight=march+18th) - it was in Gh2, hmx did that game. Not to say they couldn't get paint it black (gh3), they did get some songs from that game, i just think theres more of a chance for it to be can't you hear me knockin'. either would be awesome..and I bet this pack is comming this month.

I think that the game needs more Brit-Rock anyway. They need the holy trinity of '60's Brit-Rock: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Who. There are so many great Stones songs to choose from the '60's on into the '70's. I noticed that nobody mentioned "Let's Spend The Night Together" or "The Last Time".
For BhindBluEyes: You missed "Baba O'Reilly", "Pinball Wizard", "Eminence Front", "You Better You Bet", "Love Reign O'er Me" and "Behind Blue Eyes". They belong on your list.
