In a score duel, guy was good he picked expert for every song and proceeded to whoop me by more than 5x my points, I was hoping he would go down to hard or medium...no dice...

No Problem! I guess my too subtle point was when you are killing someone in a duel, wouldnt ya wanna dial it down a notch to make it competitive?

I know I always go medium as leader to start then if I whoop someone the next song I go to an easier medium song, if I whoop them again i go to easy..

maybe I am too nice

John Locke is a dick. Not the HMX developer, by the way.

haha nice one!

OP: Yea it sucks when you play someone clearly above your skill lvl and vice-versa. That usually happends to me in player match. Usually one of us leaves as its no fun to play a one sided match.

Well in reality, if he was owning Expert, what makes you think he wouldn't get 100% on Medium/Hard?

Lmao, yea, you just suck. Sonci was right... Sonci? Wtf? Anyway. If he's killing you on expert which is way harder, he'd for sure full combo on medium and rape you even more. Soooo... you're dumb =]

Not if I can full combo the Med/hard as well then it is even at least

You should probably move up a difficulty if you can do that ;)

I see what he's getting at.

The other player has more likely a chance to pair up to the opponent if he be on a lower difficulty, to say the other player is for sure going to win negates the probability that so will the less skilled player.

wELL i got rock band yesterday but i played guitar hero 3. In my opinion if you play someone and there beating you you might as well finish the song because it really pisses me off when someone quits in the middle of a song

ya even though I was thumped, I completed all the songs and then he quit...must have been tired of whoopin me for 7 songs haha

Im not mad just thought id see how you all duel if you are thumping on someone

I try the next level up however there seems to be quite a large jump I have only finished 9 songs on hard and one on expert lol

This is why I loved GH3 online and RB I only like band play. I play battle mode in GH3 and no one ever quits because you can win or lose at any moment in time. Only lame thing is you can't chose what difficulty so I'm always quitting cuz some douche choses medium or so. If they chose hard I'll play, but I'll always chose the hardest songs.

If it's not fun for you to get whooped while on Expert, what makes you think it will be fun fo them on anything but expert? I haven't touched anything but expert since GH1 and everything else wouldn't even be fun to me. Hell, even the first like...10-15 songs aren't fun for me.

I think an online search for X Level opponents function would be a huge improvement, that way you know you are playing the level that you want.

I usually only play ranked matches (sorry PS3 users), so if I beat somebody or if they beat me, I know it is legit. On player matches, however, if I'm winning too bad, I'll just make stupid mistakes to make them feel better.
