This is interesting seeing as how well their gaming investments are paying off. I wonder how much of this prediction goes too Rock Band and any other possible console releases.

well not everyone enjoys playing video games. my parents always thought i was an idiot growing up wasting my money on nintendo, then game boy, then genesis, etc.. i finally outgrew games before the ps2 came out (yup sadly the only time i got to play GH was at a friends house). but i was sucked back in with the ps3 for HD reasons...and now RB will make me a gamer again.
but anyways the critics are sure to be silenced when RB takes over the world and rakes in revenue.

I'm sure for analysts video games are synonymous with "risky business". I bet they don't know a thing about Rock Band.

If Viacom sits back and let's HMX do what they do... The we'll have years of happiness. If Viacom starts trying to play an active role in game developement then we will all likely lose. Here's crossing our fingers.

Just more evidence that video games aren't seen as a serious form of artistic media. Has anyone stepped out and said MTV is investing too much in their horrid movie franchise? Last I've heard, no..

Nobody criticizes MTV for investing in terrible shows and various bullsh*t which has nothing to do with Music.

I agree. I haven't watched more than 12 hours of MTV in the last year. and don't plan on watching anymore just cause there is nothing worth watching on it to me. I think Rock Band will make tons of money and is a veyr good investment. i can see myself and others buying most of the DLC. that will add up.
