Okay, Im a Sony fany, had a walkman, got the MWA-3000, had a PS1, PS2, PSP etc etc.

So im playing the PS3 today, I played Transformers and the Formula1 game.

Graphics are fluid, colurs are vivid, the graphics seem a little noisy though, almost too sharp if that makes sense. I like the transformers game for the 15 mins I played it. There were no 'slow down' periods which is good.

The F1 game was amusing, a little simplistic, James Allen, OMG I cant buy that game now, James Allen is the most annoying person in the universe. If I had one bullet and could shoot James Allen or Osama Bin Laden then sorry guys, but James would have to go.

Anyway, graphics were nice, again the gameplay was not juddery, all was good.

Then I looked at the PS3 interface. OMG, they just used the PSP interface, WTF, did they run out of money????

I have to say this, the XBOX 360 is about 10 times better from the perspective of the user interface, the way the XB integrates itself with the user and Live is ace.

The PS3 definately has a more powerful feature list from the interface (web browser etc) but its really poorly implemented.

I hope Sony do a big GUI update for the PS3 at sometime, It really needs it. Overall though a great bit of hardware, its going to last for some time I think.

You seriously think the interface is that big a deal? I mean most of the time this thing is gonna be used for games and movies.

Interface is a huge deal. And obviously Sony thinks so too.. otherwise they wouldn't be working on Home.

Yeah, but it's not going to determine which console to buy.

What's wrong with the interface?? they probably made like that so that it would be compatible with the PSP, did you know you can connect your PSP remotly with your PS3? You could be in some internet hot spot halfway across the world and connect with your PS3 and play games(as long as there not PS3 games) or view media content that's in your PS3's HD on your PSP.

Anyway, that's one example. Sorry but I dont see the problem.

I like xbox 360's games better however I have to get a system that I can trust not to give me a RROD or just overheat or just freeze all the time. So I am getting a ps3 next week.

I love your better features list: web browser. Awesome.

Anywho I like 360 better overall but I wouldn't hate anyone for getting a PS3. Great piece of hardware that may get its due someday. But the only gaming products ever to fück out and cause me grief were Sony products so I may be a wee bit spiteful.

That is just insane. I'd much rather claim the multi-million dollar bounty on Laden's head.
Shows how intelligent you are.....

Take out a guy I hate, or take out I guy I hate and become filthy rich doing it.....Hmmmm. No brainer.

Im pretty intelligent thanks, but my statement represents how much I hate James Allen, and of course in real life, I would shoot neither of them, and intelligent person reading the post would have worked that out.

It was late when I was making the post, there were other things I saw that I liked, just cant remember them.

Thats is soo not useful, you can connect the PSP to a web server and view media on that too, but lets face it, who bought a PSP to do that?

I agree, most of the time you will. But the PS3 is a very powerful piece of kit, and the interface you get is the equivalent of buying a brand new balls out go faster really expensive PC, turning it on and finding its got DOS on it, you'd be like - WTF!!!!!

I just think the interface really lets the kit down, considering what it could do.

Hmm. An intelligent person would realize that its pretty petty to hate anyone, but rather dislike them with extreme prejudice.

And BTW. I took the liberty to correct your extremely intelligent post.

Hope you don't mind.

I like the interface, i think it looks cool and its easy to navigate.

The PS store could use a bit of work though.

I like the interface as well, though it could use a few updates. I like that they now allow for customizable wall papers (something the 360 doesn't), but I wish they would allow you customize the colors of the text and icons on the XMB as well. Also, the music/video player UI needs a HUGE upgrade. If there's one place the 360 absolutley destroys the PS3 it's in it's music/viedo player interface. The abilty to make playlists and such and move through it while playing and what not would be nice on the PS3. Also, more options for organizing the files on the system.

I like the PS3's interface because it's simple and customizable. And I like the 360's blades because they're slick and functional. Both are well done, but the PS3 does need a little more work. And that's coming from a PS fanboy (sorta).

Oh and to the person who said the PS Store needs some work, I agree somewhat. I think it's fine the way it looks now. It just needs some better organiztion I think.

You can pick any picture you like for your wallpaper Mr Blonde. I would say that constitutes 'custamisable' :)

I hears the PS3 is getting DVR capabilities soon.. And I know a guy with no PC who would love to get online. He is buying the PS3 this season and not a 360 for that very reason.

Now that I hear that PS2 is getting RB... I don't know what to do. I may still get one.. But maybe not. I need more details.

Plus with only 2 songs out of 26 mentioned for RB that I care about.. I am not even sure I will be getting RB at all...

I just got a ps3 today and I was wondering if it was possible to play music whilst playing a video game. (namely oblivion)

If not thats really homosexual.

I am going to wait another year on PS3. Working in GameStop gave me time to show design flaws. Even though it was a kiosk model, it was way buggier than a kiosk model usually is. The 360 kiosk never froze and the PS3 kiosk was always frozen.

Plus Sony never came by and looked in on it. Microsoft reps came once a week to check and see if the hardware was still operating well, gave it system updates, and brought in some sweet schwag!

Well.....That is interesting. Of course it almost has been a year since the PS3 debut. So I am fairly confident that most hardware issues, if any would have been shown by now. Sometimes not, but 360 proved this wrong with the ROD. There have been minor issues, admittedly. But nothing to the severity of 360. I'm getting a PS3 in September, because I'm expecting an extra good commission :D. So when RB hits in November. I'll be set up to rock out. PS3 may be a bad choice, but to me, right now seems like the most logical.

I've been waiting for a killer app in order to justify a PS3. I'm not into HDDVD or BluRay yet, as I want them to all agree on a single format first (dusts of betamax tapes). It just seems that Sony doesn't have anything exclusive enough to justify the cost.

IMO:
Gears > Fall of Resistance
Forza 1 > Gran Turismo 4

Exclusives lost:
Devil May Cry 4
Silent Hill 5

The only thing that could possibly do it for me would be Gran Turismo (2008/2009?), but the last version couldn't touch Forza. Unfortunately, I'm just not really into Metal Gear. I may be behind in watching for PS3 releases. Just last I checked, Sony lost a bunch of exclusives, though I think there is still one that i'm insterested, but it isn't exclusive, just a 6 month headstart on the release (forget the title).

I'm hoping that there will be something that forces my hand, but I just can't do it right now. My friends who went the PS3 route are claiming that the controller should be the sole reason to go PS3, but IMO that is lame. I can play w/ any controller, its the quality of the games that is most important to me.

I agree with woobwoob. There's nothing on the PS3 I feel I need to have. There have been some decent games, but not enough to justify the price. I said when the PS3 was slated that I'd wait for it to drop to $200 before I pick one up. What is on the horizon for the PS3 that should be grabbing my attention?

I'm content with my 360, but I really wanted the Wii hardware. I eventually bought a Wii, and my gf and I played it a few hours the first week. Then, I took it apart. It still works, but I just don't have anything I need to play on it, and it just collects dust. I don't want to go that same route with a $500 machine.

Furthermore, I got an HD-DVD drive for my 360. No problems there either. I also picked up the wireless adapter for the 360, and that works a lot better than the ICS I set up after we had a discussion about wireless on another topic on this forum.

All-in-all, I can understand why people prefer the PS3, but I've had no problems with any of my 360 stuff, unless you count my Zune which wouldn't charge for the first day I had it. That aside, I have yet to be convinced that a PS3 is worth my money.

Those of you who have a PS3: what should be drawing me to your machine?

In my humble opinion, one thing would be some of the exclusive titles for the PS3. Like WarHawk,MSG4, FF13...to name some. But that also depends if those are the type of games you like to play, another is HOME but can't really tell much about that, we'll just have to wait an see how that turns out.

Anyway, if you are one the lucky people who can actually afford both consoles, I say buy it. Just wait a little, by december you will have plenty of games to choose from and most likely a bunch of neat features for the PS3 itself.

I do wish the 360 Dashboard would be cleaner and more tech looking. Similar to the DIRT menus perhaps, best game menu and loading screens ever.

Maybe hire someone from Apple to come in and clean em up? It just looks too cluttered and such.

Square Enix is inching closer and closer to support 360 too. The already made Project Slypheed. Its been said in PSM that FF13 wont be out until at lease late 2008 early 2009. The price should be justifiable by then.

Heh! I did. But I keep changing my mind. I think I have finally decided to stick with the PS3 though. I realize PS3 has a sub par library, but that will only last a short amount of time. Come this holiday season and the first quarter of next year, there are going to ba some amazing titles for PS3. Plus, I don't want to have to send in my console every few months because of ignorant hardware failure.
