HE also said Rock Band was the #1 game he wanted this year.

i didnt even know what podcast that was so i had to google it.
since it's IGN, i'm not surprised they would get an early copy to test/review. just keep checking the site for updates. although we'd likely hear the latest news here first.

If they are playing it soon, then they could definitely do a preview of it. I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of new Rock Band stuff come up over next week and the week after.

depending on when its played, it may be up same day, i doubt they get to keep it long

The preview will probably be the lead up to any kind of announcement at PAX, if they decide to announce anything at PAX. Unless IGN is given something new, the most they can say is "I played it, it was great." "the bottom six frets felt fluid" Yadda Yadda Yadda
