The Van Halen Challenge!

I challenge anyone to tell me a song by Van Halen with better guitar parts than "I'm the one".

It will be based on 3 things.

The guitar in the versus/chorus/etc

The guitar in the solos

The overall repetitiveness of the guitar.

**Eruption doesn't count, its just a long solo that is its own song.

Even though thread really won't get much accomplished, I just want everyone to realize that this song truly has the best guitar out of every Van Halen song(except eruption, its a solo, don't count). And i finally found how to show people this song without them having to download it, its not on youtube.

Awesome song! Reminds me of Hot for Teacher (the guitar parts). This would be the shiznit on Rock Band! Or Guitar Hero. Either way

That is a good song, but the guitar in "Unchained" is not even close to as good as the guitar in "Im the one". I can play all of "Unchained" on a real guitar, including the solo(its pretty much just a trill and some note bends), and i would not categorize myself as a good guitar play at all, mediocre at best.


PS This is not a "Whats the best Van Halen song" thread, it is a "What Van Halen song has the best guitar" thread. (Though "Im the one" is one of the favorite Van Halen songs, that is not the point of this thread.)

Panama for sure. It has just electrifying guitar the entire time throught. Even 12 second in, it just has the adrenalin pumping intro blast. And when it has that mini solo of 0-4-4 going into the main verse (Roughly 24.5 seconds in) and then just EXPLODES into the verse. I could go on for paragraphs, but then it'd take up the whole page...

Yea panama's guitar is really good and catchy, but I dont' think its nearly as impressive as the guitar work in "Im the one", I can play all of Panama on a real guitar except the solo, and I'm not good at guitar.

Yea I know, opinions are the reason that this thread kinda sucks.

I mainly created this thread just so people could listen to this song and maybe get some recognition over the popular songs like Panama and Hot for teacher because I know that not that many people have heard it before.

But if you look beyond opinions and wutnot, and if someone tabbed out(correctly) Panama, Hot for Teacher, and I'm the one onto Guitar Hero, I'm the One would definitely be the hardest.(The only thing hard about the other two would be the intro for Hot for teacher.)

Yeah, it's the same reason people say Dragonforce is "impressive". They play fast. Doesn't make them good. I never really liked I'm the one. It's not catchy at all. It's just speed. Not really good guitar. I didn't like it. It's all just simple single-string speed. Panama is, as you said, not hard to play on guitar, but just really catchy more fun to listen to; which makes that song better!
