Who are everyone's top 3 bands of all time? Feel free to discuss it as much as you want, but you have to pick just 3. You can put your favorite songs next to the artist too, but that's optional (of course seeing as this is in a history of rock area on a rock band site I'm sure there'll be a lot of it).
Personally, I have go with:
1.Boston- More Than A Feeling
2.Led Zeppelin- Stairway to Heaven (Cliché, I know, but I can't help it)
3.Creedence Clearwater Revival- Up Around the Bend

1. Alice In Chains
2. Cult Of Luna
3. Nirvana / Meshuggah
Can't decide songs, too many good.

I judge it based on how good I think the band is, and how much I like them. Also I thought about how much I listen to them, how many songs I actually enjoy from them and the quality of the songs I can listen to. Saying all this, I can think of a bunch of bands, but narrowing it to top 3 I would have to say it goes like this:
1. Nirvana
2. The Beatles
3. Led Zeppelin
I think these would definately be my top 3 bands, if I couldn't listen to anyone else but these three for the rest of my life, I probably wouldn't mind, and wouldn't get tired of it either.

I would name my favorite songs but it would be much quicker listing the ones I don't like. I can't be arsed to list them either.:)

I can't pick a third. Too much thought would have to be put into that but Iron Maiden and Metallica are for sure.

2) Weezer - Only In Dreams - The closest band my generation ever got to The Beatles (good pop music that was still rock)
3) Queen - Killer Queen - I think they had the best vocal/guitar combo ever

1) The Beatles - A Day In The Life (One of, if not the, Greatest Song Ever Assembled, IMO)
2) Beastie Boys - Pass The Mic (One of Greatest Songs Ever Assembled... IMO)
3) This is a tie because I have difficulty choosing who stands above...
Metallica (Mostly because 'One' is a contender for the Greatest Song Ever Assembled)
Zeppelin.. though there's a lot of repitition in their sound I find.
Fleetwood Mac (the earlier, the better but grew up on this stuff)
Pink Martini (best live musical experience ever)
Outkast (yeah, sorry, they put out one of the greatest albums of the last decade)
Bjork (but she's not a group)
Prince (maybe the best musician of all.. but also.. not a group)
Clapton (again, not a group and I wasn't big on Cream)
It's tough. But at least I *know* how I feel about the first 2. :)
