As many of you know, there's been ALOT of good Canadian bands come out in the last couple years, and I think it would be really cool to get a couple spotlight packs of songs as DLC, maybe back to back, or all at once or something. Here are some suggestions!

Theory of a Deadman - Santa Monica/So Happy
State Of Shock - Money Honey/Too Pretty
Sum 41 - Walking Disaster/Underclass Hero

Social Code - Bomb Hands/Forever Always Ends
Default - Hiding From the Sun/Get out of this Alive
Hedley - Hand Grenade/For the nights I can't remember

Nickelback - Fight For All the Wrong Reasons/Far Away
Three Days Grace - Animal I have Become/Riot
Simple Plan - Time To Say Goodbye/Jump

As for non-Canadian stuff, this would be my dream song pack -

Yellowcard - Takedown
Lost Prophets - Everyday Combat
Bullet For My Valentine - Hearts Burst Into Fire

Those are some of the most cliche and horrible Canadian bands to come out in the last couple of years. Obviously taste is subjective, but I am not alone when I say I am ashamed to call most of them Canadian bands.

Nickelback and Theory of a Deadman sound exactly the same. Nickelback, aka Jesus and His Crappy Band, sound exactly the same as themselves.

Hedley is the rock equivalent of a boy group. Wasn't the lead singer a CANADIAN Idol reject? nuff said.

Default, the singer has a unique voice, but the music... see Nickelback and Thoery.

Social Code has, like one good song. OK, maybe more, but I hated their single so much that I refuse to listen to the rest of their album.

Three Days Grace is decent. I liked their first album, but they became friends with Nickelback, and so their second album was too... Nickelback-ish.

I haven't heard the new Simple Plan yet, I've heard relatively good things.

I've never been a big fan of Sum 41, but they have some songs that would be fun in Rock Band.

Ten Second Epic, Metric, Tegan and Sarah, Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire, Moneen, The Stills, Alexisonfire, Hot Hot Heat, Kiros, Evans Blue, Finger Eleven.. the list of RECENT Canadian bands that would work well in Rock Band is extensive. While the bands you mentioned would work logistically, they are all very similar musically.

I like your list. I see that Nickelback causes a massive amount of controversy. I personally like them and wish we could see some of their stuff in RB.

Based on your list I went and checked out some of the music. Good calls, and they would all make a good list on RB.

And for those of you who don't approve, then don't download them. :-)

If we're going to make a point of putting in Canadian bands, I would personally like to see something by The Trews. There are at least a half dozen tracks between their first two albums that would work great for Rock Band and at least that many more from their newest album.

Sure they may not be as big name as some of those other bands from Canada, but they're much better in my opinion.

Also, I agree with JorynnRace about the OP's suggestions. We need some variety.

I suggested the bands I did because I feel out of what I've seen on mtv and stuff, they would be really good party songs. I know there are many more Canadian bands such as the Hip and Barenaked Ladies etc, (and I think we've had enough of Rush, because we need variety), and I know Nickelback/Theory of a Deadman/Default all sound the same, but thats what the variety part is for.

When I suggested those songs, I was trying to accomplish what happened with WitchKing, he took those samples and listened to them, and ended up liking them. Even if you've only heard one overplayed single from an overhyped band, I still ask you to listen to the songs I recommended, I tried to get a decent mix of the singles and maybe some hidden gems that would totally own in Rock Band.

Since vocals are my strength out of everything, I was asking for more vocally dominent songs, like Fall out Boy, Foo Fighters, and even a couple of the Oasis songs. All those songs I recommended are giving the general idea of the kind of vocal songs that would be perfect for this game. Stuff like Coheed and Rush aren't exactly vocally pleasant.

Thanks for listening :)

I would not find much enjoyment of the OP's original list (except maybe Sum 41 because Fat Lip was fun to play), but I WOULD have fun with Death from above 1979..... even though there's no guitar (Romantic Rights ftw)
