FC means Full Combo or 100%

LF... i believe Lefty Flip :D

FC = Full Combo: 100% accuracy with no 'extra' notes hit
LF: I assume it must mean "looking for"

Finally, someone asks the question I was afraid to, lol. I too feel stupid... here's part two of the stupid question: Is there a way to determine if you 'FC'd it other than seeing 100%?

You could have saved yourself the embarrisment and did a search. This question has been asked a number of times by other people.

Well there is no definite way to determine what an FC is other than comparing your score to the leaderboards.

Also getting 100% doesn't mean you got an FC. It is possible to get 100% and not even get 5*. I would suggest you check scorehero as you can see what note streaks people are getting on songs as well as their scores.

I don't know if there is any one authority on this, but the way I understand it is that if you hit an extra note, this will break your score multiplier so your score will take a noticeable hit (it will still be 100% but not a FC)... However, deciding to never use a single overdrive will also lower your score and reduce the # of notes you need to play, but is still considered a FC as long as you don't hit 'extra' notes...

confused yet?

Conclusion: No, it is hard to tell if a score is a FC even if you see "100%"... the only way you could be sure it is a FC is if the score is so high it's at the top of the leaderboards. But again, not all FC's show up at the top, either!

No,actually. That does make sense to me. Thanks for clearing that up! :D

acctually, i dont think asking a question like this is embarrassing at all. everyone has tyo learn what these things mean at some point. even me.

To clarify, FC (full combo) means two things:

1) 100% notes hit
2) Note streak = total notes in song (no extra strums that reset your multiplier)

With Rock Band, as in GH1, there is no stats screen that shows notes hit/total notes, so the only way to know the total notes in a song is by comparing to what others have gotten. This is why I prefer to (shameless plug) use score tracking at rockband.scorehero.com (http://rockband.scorehero.com). They track score, streak, percentage, and allow screenshots of the stats screen and links to videos, as well as a comment for each score.

Oh you're right!... I guess that's always true for guitar (since activating Overdrive doesn't replace notes with free lanes like it does in drums) but the # of notes changes for drums depending on the Overdrive path you choose, doesn't it? That's why this is confusing for drums... apparently, there are multiple ways to FC a song, with the extreme example being never activating overdrive at all but getting 100%.

Especially when search terms must be 3 letters or more, making it very difficult to search for an answer.

Well, I imagine he would have searched for "what is fc", no just "fc".

You could have saved yourself the embarrisment and did a search.

And you could have saved yourself some embarrassment by using a dictionary (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=embarrassment) or spell checker.

If you're going to condescend, make sure you've got your own act in order first. ;)

for future reference, anytime you see stuff like that, that you don't really understand go to:

www.urbandictionary.com

and look there, I don't know if LF is on there, but I know FC is, and pretty much everything else I've ever wonderd about online.

Your score can give you an idea, but there's really no surefire way of knowing aside from just paying attention to your score multiplier as you play, or recording it on video. I keep the score multiplier in the corner of my eye (as I like to save OD for when I have a 4x multiplier), so I know whether or not I've FC'd it. The game itself doesn't keep track of the number of overstrums.

Necro bumping! The dude asked that question back in February, doubt he will check this for an answer.
