ok as I stated before I dont have the most beautiful voice at all, I know this, but for sabotage is an exception though with all talky parts. Right?

Anyway I notice that I nail phrases some times and sometimes I dont..ok I understand your multiply meter fills faster if you make noise when there should be noise...like bonus if you hit it as the word is suppose to start. so you'll see the arrow turn green, or yellow, or red during timing or what have you.

Moving along, I know the song very well, so if frustrates me to no end that I dont mumble the song...then I noticed something.

Know that big phrase that is just "WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" very long, almost impossible not to get a awesome on?

Well I watched my arrow..no matter how loud I was, go instant green, to instant red, no yellows or anything...which doesnt make sense to me. As long as I'm making some kind of noise...sure it red...but it could explain on how I'm missing phrases.

So what do you think?

Things I tried so far... I turned sensitivity up and down... and my soundsystem during this has been turn pretty much all the way down, so back round noise inst to blame for this...which turning rockband down....its a crime in itself.

Whatcha think? time to buy a third party mic?

I think there is a debate as to whether the "talky bits" are broken or not. Dig back a bit in this forum. You should be able to find the thread from a couple of days ago.

Yeah I read that one "guy rubs mic on his pants"

but something tells me its not just the talky parts....I mean the arrow is red....just dont understand why it wouldnt be green...I change pitch, I yell louder, I barely make a sound, it wont change to green, and I damn well know I'm hitting the very start, I had...(at my embarassment lol since i'm not drunk :P) two guys in the room with me and saw I was doing it right but it wasnt registering right (as in the color coding with the arrow)

we all agreed that if its green the meter filled the fastest.

just seems wierd...I dont know, maybe talky parts are alittle broken...but something to me feels it might be the mic too

I have found that the RB mic that comes in the SE box is crap. I've gone thru two of them, and my friend just bought the box this weekend and his mic is already cutting out/crackling. POS equipment...the symptoms are EXACTLY as you describe

Have you tried your headset?

you mean that little thing that you plug into your insturments with your xbox head set....yeah, just tested it, that doesnt work as you would think...its just an extender I guess because its registering nothing in-game

<EDIT> yep did some research and it DOES NOT allow the xbox live headset to work as a singing mic, since whoever designed the insturments too the cheap and easy way and put a audio female jack in it, so that piece is used so you can plug it into the Strat/drums so you can talk on xbox live...so no...didnt work lol

A friend of mine tried doing Sabotage by rubbing a drill bit on the mic. It seemed to work for a bit but it doesn't last enough to breeze through phrases or anything.
