Who's Next, Original 71' release or 95' remastered CD?

I was wondering if I could get a clarification on which version is going to be available as DLC. I tried to look around but, I don't believe this has been clarified and was wondering if it was possible to get a clarification on it since the album has been announced officially.

Since they are all master tracks, my best guess is that they will be the original release of Who's Next, not the remastered CD.

I assume it will be the remastered tracks (basically, just better sound quality to the masters and different production), but probably without the bonus tracks.

Ya, Kind of along the same lines I was thinking. I was just hoping for more songs in the first DLC pack to hush any nay-sayers about price. Anyways Thanks for the response, Getting an "Official" word is about as likely as making a profit off of raisin juice. :D

Hmm I'm still going to hedge with the remasters (the above could just be referring to the original album's rock chronology, rather than a clarification). Considering how you always hear of the old tracks having their masters damaged and/or all recorded on just a few seperate tracks

Since they remastered them, the tracks themselves should be the same on both. The digital re-masters should just have higher sound quality.

I'm guessing you're right about '71 referring to the track list and release date, but I'll bet they still use the remastered audio (of the '71 album).

Hmm I thought often with remasters they'll also redo the instruments.. which is why some people prefer the original recordings (course, I could be thinking of a different term than "remaster" tho)

Remaster usually means they take the original tapes and clean them up. With a digital remaster they take sample the original into digital format, then remake the entire album using those newly cleaned recordings. The differences are usually subtle, but noticable. Mostly stuff like changing the equipment used to do reverb/chorus/etc, slightly different EQ different mixes, etc.

Some remasters may lay down new tracks, but I think the majority are from the originals.
