I was thinking that it might not be a bad idea to have a thread where those people who only have one or two song ideas, as opposed to an entire list, can post their song choices and discuss them. You know, so as to avoid clutter.

So to get us started off I will suggest "Don't Start a Band" by Reel Big Fish. Now, I do enjoy the Ska music myself and within this song we have Solid vocals throughout, Bass by the lovable Matt Wong, quick guitar with an entertaining solo. Plus we have the added effect of a lyrical subject that is somewhat ironic for the game we are talking about.

A video of the song can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPxlenE-kic

if there was one song, it would have to be Hearts on Fire by Hammerfall

this is probably the silliest music video i have ever seen http://youtube.com/watch?v=jGLIuq0NQz0

if anyone has questions, thats the swedish olympic curling team, who had won gold back in the last winter games, and yes Hammerfall is a Swedish Band

I could agree with that, another good song by Hammerfall would be Natural High, that would be a fun song.

Otherwise, I would choose Holy Diver by Dio, that song is awesome.

I have another song, You Can't Bring Me Down by Suicidal Tendencies.

It can be seen here:

It has the cool build up that I love in a song, it has some pretty cool guitar, and it has quite a bit of all three parts.

There obviously needs to be a way to put the songs that each person wants onto their system. it would be really hard even though ive heard it done on guitar hero for playstation. just think about it, you wouldnt have to get them to put the songs you want on the game, you can just do it youself. perfect answer to all song idea problems

Except it could not be implemented legal due to copyright issues. The PS2 custom songs require hacked systems.

This is an obvious choice by me, but you have to admit, the first time your guitarist and the drummer hit the entire intro perfectly you will be bad ass.

For a Encore song, or possibly the last song of the game, I'd love to play something from The Who's Tommy. Pinball Wizard or Christmas would be lots of fun as a regular song, but the Overture or Underture would make a wonderful ending.

Iron Maiden, need i say more?
Vocals, guitars, bass and drums are all amazing. Although, it would be comical seeing all these people trying to sing Bruce Dickinson's lyrics.

However, some examples would be:
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - http://youtube.com/watch?v=rS7ptTYNlGE
Aces High - http://youtube.com/watch?v=A2CQ3YE4P_g
Sign of the Cross (this is Bruce singing, but I would prefer the Blaze Bayley version) - http://youtube.com/watch?v=FBanU-AHMqg
The Wicker Man - http://youtube.com/watch?v=GyfIQ7s14wc
Fear of the Dark - http://youtube.com/watch?v=28GaKoCuobU
Flight of Icarus - http://youtube.com/watch?v=60LhFbmHhPs
Wrathchild - http://youtube.com/watch?v=iaS9swmiamg
Hallowed Be Thy Name - http://youtube.com/watch?v=EYhDqczO0b0

Also, I would love to see some Bruce Dickinson:
Accident of Birth - http://youtube.com/watch?v=SZwZPbnCnUQ
Book of Thel - http://youtube.com/watch?v=0lHe_jjRD8Q
Tears of the Dragon - http://youtube.com/watch?v=szDnELHjLsc

I will now be suggesting my favorite song of all time.

Astronomy by the Blue Oyster Cult was first released on the 1974 album Secret Treaties, with Lyrics by Albert Bouchard (who has since left BOC to start the band The Brain Surgeons) based off a poem he wrote at an earlier time.

With the gentle start with a hint of piano and the softer guitar work of Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, the song begins with psychodelic lyrics that showcase Bouchard's talent. The song quickly begins to pick up quickly with the guitar and piano combating each other for prime position. Then it happens, the guitar wins and begins to build, it builds and builds into some of the most passionate guitar playing, and my favorite solo ever. It is beauty.

There is a problem though, in that the original recording is much softer, slower, and more piano driven, it is only the various Live versions that reach the level of genius I have described. And I do not know how exactly that would work for putting it into the game.

Edit:

Though when I think about it I realize that Crossroads was a cover of a Live Recording.

Definately Master of Puppets by Metallica

This song is probably best known for the absolute crazy guitar and bass parts in it. The drums are amazing too. And who wouldn't want to belt out the vocals of James Hetfield I mean c'mon, this song screams ROCK BAND!

Watching this http://youtube.com/watch?v=7tsJznL4hJ0 video really makes me want The Bends by Radiohead in Rock Band. That and Jesus Christ Pose are my top 2.

Voodoo child by kmi hendrix would be cool especially if they could incorporate the wah effect ( have the whammy serve as wah?)

I could name many songs that I would like in Rock Band... But, if it came down to just one song, I know which I'd choose....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtPiXSc0A9U

Number Girl - Toumei Shoujo

(The whole song, from the start to the end where Mukai Shutoku is practically breaking the lens of his glasses from screaming too loud. It's an encore song, plain and simple)

I'd never heard of this band until my brother showed me an anime music video that featured it, but i think it would be pretty cool for RB. It's kinda corny and don't really know what genre it would be classed as, kinda family friendly metal? similar to dragnforce... kinda

I had others i thought were cool but cant remember them right now. Will post when i can remember.

Well, it seems that I do not visit for one day and this thread gets pushed down. What was up with this sudden flood of posts, we must have doubled our topics in one day. Or something.

Oh well.

Here is another obvious song request.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=OHdwZCVZmg8&mode=related&search= Everlong- The Foo Fighters.
